Job Purpose

  • The purpose of this position is to lead Category Management external and internal strategies + guidelines to assure Category Growth in Confectionary and Pet Care Categories in Puerto Rico.

  • This role is responsible for delivering best in class category leadership customer collaboration for customers and distributors which contributes consistently to the unit’s objectives and/or has potential for significant future growth.

  • This role is accountable for developing category growth insights-based solutions and defining the shelf of the future, optimizing sales revenue and profitability at category and portfolio level.

  • The role influences and engages multiple external + internal teams to drive appropriate cross-functional collaboration to meet customer, shoppers and Mars Wrigley needs to ensure we are well placed to drive customer engagement through development of customer growth plans grounded into localized category vision.

What would be your key responsibilities?

· Develop and Implement Category Principles to lead Captaincies to ensure category growth.

· Develop Strategic alliances with key decision makers at specific retailers.

· Responsible for the management and developing expertise in customer specific POS data (developing reports collaborating with the customer); leverage data to create and deploy actionable customer specific insights.

· Provides Customer specific selling-stories for Category Projects (using unbiased category facts) and act as advisor on customer’s promotional calendar.

· Champion strategic and ad-hoc shelf management for the category to maximize category and customer’s sales and profits.

· Responsible for the successful execution of all formal planogram review processes with the specific customer.

· Responsible for the successful execution of all category growth projects.

Job Specifications / Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or Industrial Engineering Preferred Qualifications

- Preferred master’s degree in business administration, Marketing or similar

- Understanding of FMCG context and retail/online landscape.

- At least +3 years of experience in Demand Areas of FMCG Companies (Category Management, Sales, Trade Marketing, Marketing)

- +1-year Experience in Category Management

  • Ability to build effective working relationships and motivate stakeholders internally and externally.

  • High analytical acumen with ability to drive and translate insights into relevant strategies and tactics (actions / initiatives) internally and for execution with our customers.

- English language proficiency

- Must Have Technical Skills: JDA Prospace, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, Nielsen Knowledge

- Preferred Technical Skills Access/SQL, Dichter&Neira
