In this role, you will act as a trusted HR partner and escalation point, providing expert guidance on complex HR matters while supporting the Marine People team in delivering a consistent, high-quality people experience. You will work closely with colleagues across regions and functions, contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Trusted HR Partner to Seafarers
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for seafarers throughout their employment lifecycle
- Issue Seafarer Employment Agreements and provide expert guidance on employment-related matters
- Conduct sign-off conversations and support seafarers during key employment transitions
- Safeguard seafarer wellbeing, including welfare, illness cases, and family-related matters
- Support key lifecycle events such as parental leave, retirement, and exit processes
Performance, Development, and Employee Experience
- Coordinate and support performance management processes, including appraisals, development plans, and disciplinary actions
- Provide career guidance and support individual development
- Identify training needs and support development initiatives aligned with talent strategy
- Promote a positive employee experience and strong engagement with seafarers
HR Operations and Administration
- Manage end-to-end HR administration, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency
- Support payroll-related queries, leave management, benefits administration, and expense claims
- Handle sensitive matters including grievances and complex employee cases
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting to relevant authorities
- Participate in duty phone coverage as required
Leadership and Team Support
- Act as escalation point in the absence of the Marine People Manager
- Support and guide Marine People Advisors in complex HR situations
- Assist the Marine People Manager with task execution, delegation, and team coordination
- Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and implementation of new initiatives
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with seafarers and internal stakeholders including Crewing, Fleet Groups, Marine Standards, and Marine People teams globally
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as local authorities and third-party partners
- Ensure continuity of service through effective handovers and proactive communication

You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, global environment and is passionate about supporting employees and enabling teams to perform at their best.
You bring:
- Solid experience in HR, preferably supporting frontline or operational populations
- Strong communication skills with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to manage complex cases and multiple priorities
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor and escalation point
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement
- Leadership mindset with ability to guide and support colleagues
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
Experience in the maritime industry or international HR environment is an advantage.
