As a Marine People Advisor, you will be the trusted HR partner and primary point of contact for our seafarers, supporting them through key moments that matter — from onboarding and development to wellbeing and career progression. You will work in a collaborative, international environment and contribute to delivering a world-class people experience aligned with Maersk’s values and global people strategy.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your HR career in a global organization committed to diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Trusted Partner to Seafarers

  • Serve as the main HR point of contact for seafarers throughout their employment lifecycle.
  • Issue Seafarer Employment Agreements and provide guidance on employment-related matters.
  • Conduct sign-off conversations and support seafarers during key transition moments.
  • Safeguard seafarer wellbeing, including welfare, mental health, and family-related matters.

Driving Performance and Development

  • Coordinate performance management processes, including appraisals, development plans, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support career conversations and personal development planning.
  • Identify training needs and enable development opportunities aligned with talent strategy.

Delivering Excellent HR Operations

  • Manage end-to-end HR administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Support payroll-related queries, leave management, benefits administration, and expense claims.
  • Manage sensitive employee matters such as illness, parental leave, grievances, and exit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting to relevant authorities.

Collaborating Across a Global Organization

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Crewing, Marine People teams, Fleet Groups, and Marine Standards.
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality HR support.
  • Participate in HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Who We Are Looking For

You are a people-focused HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, global environment. You bring empathy, structure, and professionalism, and you are motivated by supporting employees and creating a positive people experience.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across cultures and teams.
  • Excellent Romanian and English communication skills (written and spoken).

Experience in maritime, global operations, or working with remote or frontline populations is an advantage but not required.

Why Join Maersk
