Are you our new Senior Instructional Designer with Maersk Training in Chennai?

A supportive, flexible learning environment with hands-on exposure to create high-quality instructional materials. The role is critical in creating engaging and impactful learning experiences for Maritime, Oil and Gas and Wind Energy divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify learning needs and objectives.
  • Perform extensive content analysis and create design documents for proposed solutions.
  • Create content specification document, cross-reference tables and storyboarding design & review plans.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including eLearning courses, blended learning, assessments and question banks.
  • Ability to create scenarios, and case studies.
  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Utilize authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and support in developing and delivering digital content.
  • Review storyboards and courses.
  • Review and evaluate instructional content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to instructional design principles.
  • Conduct thorough testing of eLearning modules and other interactive elements to ensure functionality and user experience.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to improve instructional materials.

We are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, English Literature, Communication, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in the eLearning industry as an Instructional Designer.
  • Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development and ability to coordinate with subject matter experts, instructors, graphic designers, eLearning developers, and video producers.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and learning technologies.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct quality assurance checks.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Digital team.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC standards.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for instructional design and quality assurance (e.g., SCORM).
