We are currently seeking top talent for the position of CBM Engineer. This professional at APM Terminals is responsible for strengthening predictive maintenance, lubrication reliability, and condition-based monitoring across terminals.

The role combines oil analysis, lubrication management, and advanced CBM diagnostics into a cohesive reliability function. Through expert analysis, data-driven recommendations, and cross-functional collaboration, the CBM Engineer helps improve asset performance, reduce failures, and standardize best practices across the network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive excellence in condition-based monitoring (CBM), lubrication practices, and oil analysis to support APM Terminals’ Asset Management Transformation.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic activities including oil analysis, vibration monitoring, thermography, ultrasonic inspection, and other predictive technologies to detect early signs of equipment degradation.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret oil data and CBM measurements to identify wear mechanisms, contamination sources, lubrication issues, abnormal trends, and potential failure modes.
  • Provide technical recommendations to address mechanical degradation, lubrication problems, and CBM-identified defects, ensuring timely and effective implementation at site level.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA), Equipment Failure Analysis (EFA), and FMECA, incorporating insights from both lubrication and CBM diagnostics. Collaborate closely with RAM, EPS,
  • Planning, and Reliability teams in the terminal to integrate CBM findings into maintenance plans, work orders, and reliability improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to the design, testing, and continuous improvement of centralized digital platforms for CBM and oil analysis, including dashboards, alerting systems, and data automation.
  • Deliver training to terminal teams on CBM techniques, lubrication fundamentals, oil sampling, filtration, contamination control, and reliability best practices.
  • Ensure data quality by maintaining accurate CBM routes, consistent measurement practices, and high-quality reporting standards across terminals.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, laboratories, and service partners to validate findings, resolve technical issues, and ensure accurate interpretation of results.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing CBM trends, lubrication performance, emerging risks, and technical recommendations for critical equipment.

What talent are we looking for?

  • Education: Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in CBM, lubrication management, predictive maintenance, or equipment reliability.
  • Certifications: MLA/MLT (oil analysis) or CBM (vibration CAT I/II, thermography, ultrasound) are strong advantages.
  • Strong understanding of rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, engines, and industrial machinery.
  • Proficient in analyzing technical data, identifying fault patterns, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Experience with digital monitoring platforms or predictive analytics tools is preferred.
