Purpose & General Responsibilities of the Position

The Geographical Cluster Security & Business Continuity (S&BC) Manager is responsible for leading security, operational resilience, and incident response across Mainland China.

The role provides leadership, direction, and subject-matter expertise, ensuring the effective implementation of Maersk’s global Security & Business Resilience (S&BR) framework.

Acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders, operations, and customers, the role supports risk-informed decision making and ensures the protection of people, cargo, assets, and operations across the cluster. The role drives delivery of the Predict–Prevent–Respond–Recover resilience framework while strengthening security capability and operational continuity across sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Security & Business Continuity matters across the cluster, including customer security requirements.
  • Provide visible leadership for security and resilience across sites and business units.
  • Implement and drive compliance with the Security & Business Resilience (S&BR) framework across cluster locations.
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments covering people, cargo, sites, and operations, providing mitigation recommendations.
  • Support theft and loss prevention initiatives, including collaboration with Special Operations on illicit cargo and contraband mitigation.
  • Ensure Duty of Care security measures are implemented and monitored, including travel security awareness and protocols.
  • Ensure sites conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and maintain effective Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans, including testing and training.
  • Provide incident management leadership, ensuring timely reporting, response coordination, and lessons learned.
  • Monitor and report on security performance metrics, maintaining dashboards, scorecards, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant international security standards such as C-TPAT, TAPA, IATA, and AEO.
  • Mentor and upskill Security & BC partners and local resources to strengthen cluster capability.
  • Manage SGA budgets and support security initiatives across the cluster.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Security management at country, regional, or global level.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Business Continuity or resilience programs.
  • Experience operating within complex, multi-site operational environments.
  • Degree or certification in Security Management, Risk Management, Business Continuity, or Crisis/Emergency Management preferred.
  • Strong risk assessment and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams.
  • Experience implementing security frameworks, compliance programs, and operational controls.
