Job Description

Opportunity

This is an exciting career opportunity to work in a multinational, Global 500 company that makes global trade happen. You will be interacting daily with colleagues internationally, giving you the opportunity to develop your professional skills in a global environment. We provide support for you to shape your own career by achieving expertise and learning on the job.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to join and drive the COMET platform – Maersk’s container event tracking and monitoring platform. COMET is a critical data capability in our logistics ecosystem, providing real-time visibility into container events across the end-to-end Transported by Maersk logistics chain. The PM will define product strategy, drive execution with cross-functional teams, and ensure COMET delivers measurable customer and business value to internal operations and external customers.

This role sits within the Cargo Transport Optimisation team, operating in a large matrix organisation. You will work closely with engineering, data, operations, and commercial stakeholders to translate complex logistics domain problems into scalable, user-centric product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the assigned component of COMET product vision, strategy, and product roadmap, aligned with the broader Cargo Transport Optimisation portfolio and Maersk’s logistics strategy.
  • Define, prioritise, and maintain a well-groomed product backlog in close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts, Business Reference group, engineering and design, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and user impact.
  • Drive discovery and delivery cycles for COMET MVP and sequential product releases and enhancements: conduct stakeholder interviews, map user journeys, define hypotheses, and validate solutions through data-driven experimentation to gradually replace our legacy tracking platform.
  • Ensure high-quality, reliable container event data flows across systems – covering milestones such as gate-in/gate-out, vessel load/discharge, rail, barge and inland haulage events.
  • Define and monitor product KPIs including event accuracy, latency, coverage, and downstream operational Event Edit Processes by Edit users impact. Use data to inform prioritisation and communicate product progress to ensure product alignment and transparency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, data platform, operations, CX, Finance and commercial to ensure alignment and remove blockers.
  • Manage stakeholder communication across a senior leadership audience: run steering committees, produce concise status updates, and proactively escalate risks.
  • Drive integration requirements with internal consumers (e.g. operational planning, transport execution systems/TMS, Customer billing platforms, Data Analytics tools,) and external facing applications such as customer web services.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, user-centricity, outcome-orientation, and can-do attitude within the product team.
  • Contribute to team rituals and ways of working, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-team alignment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of product management experience in a technology-driven organisation; logistics, supply chain, or maritime domain experience is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and shipping complex data products end-to-end – from discovery and definition through delivery and iteration.
  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable working with event data, defining metrics, running queries, and using data to drive decisions.
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed organisations with complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to translate technical complexity into clear, compelling narratives for business users, engineering and leadership audiences.
  • Familiarity with logistics event-driven architectures, data pipelines, system integrations and AI-driven datasets optimization is a plus.
  • Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and modern product tooling (Jira, Confluence, Miro, analytics platforms).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

What We Value

  • Enjoys problem solving, curious, adaptive, and a bias for action – you proactively seek out problems, root cause analysis and drive toward solutions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: you can navigate unclear requirements and bring structure to complex domains.
  • A collaborative mindset: you build trust across functions and know when to lead, when to listen, and when to push back constructively.
  • Ownership mentality: you treat the product as your own, take accountability for outcomes, and follow through on commitments.
  • A genuine interest in logistics, data, global trade, and the operational backbone of commerce.

What We Offer

  • A central role in shaping how Maersk tracks and manages container movements globally – impacting millions of shipments per year.
  • A collaborative, diverse and strong product and engineering team within a company undergoing significant digital transformation to replace legacy tracking platform.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a modern headquarter office in Copenhagen.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within one of the world’s largest integrated logistics companies.
