Job Description

Platform Product Owner, Procure-to-Pay Platforms

Have you delivered measurable business impact through AI and automation — and want to do it at a scale most product managers never get near?

We are looking for a Platform Product Owner with a proven track record in AI and automation delivery to join the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Platforms team at A.P. Moller - Maersk — one of the world’s largest integrated logistics companies, operating across 130 countries.

This is a product management role with real ownership, not a Scrum coordination position. You will shape platform direction, drive an active AI and automation agenda, and help transform how cost and risk are managed across a global operation.

The Opportunity

Procure-to-Pay is a strategic priority at Maersk — spanning the end-to-end process from purchase order creation through invoice validation and dispute handling. AI and automation are not on the horizon here; they are already in flight. We are running live pilots in invoice scanning and OCR, intelligent exception handling, and AI-enabled development — and we need a PM who can turn early traction into scaled, measurable outcomes.

The platforms underpinning this process are in active development, with significant greenfield scope and a direct line to senior leadership. The problems are large, the stakeholders have strong opinions, and the decisions you make will have measurable impact on cost and operational efficiency at enterprise scale.

This role suits someone who is at least 5 into a product career, has shipped AI or automation products and can point to the business results, and is ready to apply that experience in a more complex, higher-stakes environment than they’ve worked in before.

What You Will Do

Your work will fall across three areas:

Platform strategy and direction

– Shape product vision, priorities, and roadmaps across the P2P platform ecosystem

– Lead discovery with users, process owners, and UX to surface opportunities and inform decisions

– Balance user experience, business value, technical constraints, risk, and compliance

Delivery and execution

– Translate business needs into clear requirements and a well-groomed backlog

– Work closely with engineering, UX, data, and architecture teams to deliver and iterate

– Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, automation, data quality, and control

– Drive AI and automation workstreams within P2P — translating live pilots into scaled outcomes with clear business metrics

Stakeholder alignment and communication

– Operate across a challenging landscape of Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Technology — each with competing priorities and strong views

– Communicate trade-offs clearly and build alignment with senior stakeholders who are not always aligned

– Use data and narrative to report progress and outcomes in a way that lands with both technical and business audiences

What We're Looking For

Essential:

– 5+ years in product management in complex or multi-stakeholder environments

– A demonstrable track record of delivering business impact through AI or automation — you can point to what shipped, at what scale, and what it changed

– Strong structured thinking and a data-driven approach to decisions and prioritisation

– Proven ability to influence without authority and build alignment across competing priorities — this is central to the role

– Exceptional communication skills, including translating between technical and non-technical audiences and presenting confidently to senior stakeholders

– Experience working with engineering teams in Agile environments

– Appetite for greenfield scope and comfort operating without a complete playbook

Helpful, but not required:

– Exposure to Procure-to-Pay, Procurement, Finance, ERP ecosystems, invoicing, or compliance

– Background in shipping, logistics, or similarly complex operational environments

If you meet most — but not all — of these criteria, we encourage you to apply.

Working Here

This role is based full-time at our offices in Copenhagen. You will be part of a small, experienced PM team and work within a broader cross-functional organisation spanning Tech, Finance, Operations and Procurement.

The P2P function has executive sponsorship and is one of Maersk's identified operational priorities. You will have access to real data, real decisions, and real consequences — which is what makes it interesting.

Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking. Maersk is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race, colour, gender, sex, age, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy or parental leave, veteran status, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
