The ideal candidate will have successfully built and managed products and/or platforms in the data & AI space. You are able to synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities and translate them into products and capabilities that solve specific pain-points. You have good knowledge of the data & AI lifecycle capabilities and advocate of seamless user experience. You are analytical and data driven, and are laser focused on measuring and improving the success of products you own. You have a bias for action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, transforming environment. In addition, you respond effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations.

Role Summary

The Technical Product Owner plays a pivotal role in shaping the next-generation modern Data & AI platform, driving the Maersk’s transition from a centralized to a federated data ecosystem. You will partner closely with customers, business stakeholders, engineering, multi-platform teams, governance & security teams to deliver stable, scalable, and high-impact platform capabilities that empower data-driven innovation and accelerate AI adoption across the enterprise.

In addition to participating in shaping up the platform strategy, road mapping and backlog grooming sessions, you will form relationships with our customer base and stakeholders to ensure their feedback is being integrated into product roadmaps and feature work, while balancing these requirements with the internal needs of the team. With all of Maersk’s engineers using our products on a day-to-day basis, this is a high-visibility role with direct impact on engineering productivity, data democratization, and AI adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

· Customer Centricity: Champion the voice of the customer through proactive engagement with internal customers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders. Embed customer feedback into product design and prioritization and build a strong continuous feedback loop.

· Platform & Product Strategy: Shape and execute the product strategy and roadmap for core components of the Data & AI platform, aligning with user needs and emerging technology trends.

· End-to-End Product Ownership: Lead product lifecycle activities including user research, partner evaluation, ideation/discovery, defining business value & success metrics, backlog management, feature delivery, and post-launch optimization.

· Backlog Management: Manage a strong product backlog balancing new feature delivery, platform enhancements, technical debt, and architectural evolution in collaboration with engineering leads.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate across engineering, data governance, design, project delivery, cybersecurity, and compliance to ensure timely, secure, and quality delivery of platform capabilities.

· Strategic Communication: Drive clear, compelling, and transparent communication across stakeholders. Articulate complex technical concepts into business-relevant narratives, ensuring alignment on product direction, value realization, and progress with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and platform consumers.

· Agile Leadership: Act as a key stakeholder in agile practices. Serve as the voice of the product in agile ceremonies.

· Stakeholder Relationship Management: Develop strong, trust-based relationships with internal users, senior leaders, and platform partners to understand evolving needs and advocate for platform capabilities that meet strategic objectives.

Key Skills

· 14+ years in product/platform management or technical product leadership roles, preferably with experience leading platform product areas in large or matrixed organizations.

· Proven success in designing, delivering, and scaling modern Data & AI products/platforms, such as data development & management, data catalogs, MLOps, GenAI, feature stores.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams through well-structured, data-driven insights.

· Strong ability to connect product/platform capabilities to user needs and business outcomes. Experience with defining and tracking KPIs to measure success/progress and inform prioritization.

· Comfortable operating in transformation environments. Brings a pragmatic, adaptable mindset to lead through ambiguity and drive continuous improvement.

· Deep understanding of agile methodologies, backlog prioritization, and technical trade-offs. Comfortable working closely with architects and developers on complex platform initiatives.

· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional efforts and deliver results.
