JV Manager of Tianjin StarTrans

Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Joint Venture, ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, strong governance, regulatory compliance, and delivery of agreed financial and business objectives while strengthening collaboration between the JV and Maersk.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Excellence​

• Lead overall business performance in the JV across operations, commercial activities, finance, people, and customer service functions.​

• Own the JV's P&L, business planning process, and delivery of financial, operational, and profitability targets.​

• Identify and execute growth opportunities while maximizing synergies between the JV and Maersk to drive sustainable business expansion and value creation.​

• Establish performance management frameworks, KPIs, and governance mechanisms to ensure business objectives are achieved.​

Operational Excellence​

• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, automation, and digitalization.​

• Develop and lead a high-performing organization with a strong focus on capability building, employee engagement, and talent development.​

• Ensure robust corporate governance, execution of Board resolutions, effective business reporting, and compliance with Maersk policies, standards, and best practices.​

• Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.​

Compliance, HSE, Procurement & IT​

• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Maersk corporate policies, and governance requirements.​

• Champion Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) excellence and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.​

• Oversee procurement activities to ensure cost efficiency, supplier performance, and adherence to procurement policies and controls.​

• Lead IT and digital initiatives to enhance business capabilities, cybersecurity, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making.​

Stakeholder Management​

• Build and maintain strong relationships with JV partners, shareholders, customers, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.​

• Act as the primary representative of the JV, ensuring alignment of strategic objectives and effective collaboration with Maersk and partner organizations.​

• Drive mutually beneficial outcomes through proactive engagement, transparent communication, and effective conflict resolution.​

• Strengthen customer relationships and partnership opportunities to support long-term business growth.​

Critical Competencies:

• Proven experience as a General Management or Business Head with full P&L responsibility.​

• Strong background in operations, commercial management, and business development.​

• Experience working in joint ventures, partnerships, or complex stakeholder environments.​

• Strong leadership, financial acumen, and change management capabilities.​

• High standards of integrity, governance, and compliance, with a commitment to ethical business practices.​
