We are responsible for ensuring that the Cyber Security risk to Maersk is understood and mitigated effectively, enabling Maersk to deliver on its business outcomes safely and securely. As a Technical Issue Engineer within our Cyber Risk function,
you’ll be assigned to one of the Portfolios within Maersk Technology, working as part of a small team providing proactive support reducing risk.

Global CTIO has a mandate from the Maersk board to lead the Technology transformation of Maersk, enabling the
Maersk business strategy to become the global integrator of container logistics through digitising the Maersk business processes and customer engagement.
The Technology Function is fundamental to enabling the company’s transformation. We are recruiting world-class talent to ensure that the technology services are modernised, enabling Maersk to become a logistics integrator leveraging a competitive advantage through technology.


Why this job matters?
Yours is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring your Portfolio effectively manages and reduces technical cyber debt (“issues”) lowering the likelihood or impact of a cyber-attack. In this role you’ll need to draw on your
technical skills and colleagues from across Cyber Security to ensure issues are resolved as well as supporting risk managers in articulating technical components during risk assessments.
To effect change you will be expected to build strong relationships with technical teams within your Portfolio, becoming their trusted technical advisor on cyber security issues.
Communication and Collaboration are as important as your technical skills. You will work closely with stakeholders within Cyber Security and your Portfolio ensuring issues & plans for resolving these are understood,
agreed and delivered on time.


Scope
Your scope is the entire Portfolio to which your assigned. Each Portfolio presents its own issues and your role acting as technical focal point for cyber security issues requires you to have relevant skills and experience – both understanding technical issues and in managing appropriate resolutions to them.

Specific Job Requirements
The role will involve :
• As a Technical Issue Engineer your role is to effectively manage and reduce technical cyber debt
(“issues”) lowering the likelihood or impact of a cyber-attack.
• The role will report to a senior manager within our Cyber Risk team, but you will also operate in a matrix
virtual team of portfolio leads, risk managers and others supporting your Portfolio.
• This is a varied role and you will work with a range of differing technologies.
What I'll be doing – your accountabilities?


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Proactively work with your assigned Portfolio to effectively manage and reduce technical cyber debt
(“issues”), using a prioritised approach to lower the likelihood or impact of a cyber-attack
• Identification and reporting of new issues and potential risks.
• Provide technical SME knowledge in support of ongoing risk assessments and development of mitigation
plans as required by the relevant risk manager.
• Provide ‘first line’ support for Portfolios to consume ‘self-service’ cyber solutions or services (including threat modelling, high-level solution assessments and facilitation of security testing).
• Supporting our security operations team in response to cyber incidents, providing technical knowledge and coordinating technical SMEs within the affected Portfolio.
• Supporting responses to customers technical queries about systems and technologies within the short time frames of the sales lifecycle.
• Evangelise secure by design, zero trust principals and cyber risk in all interactions with Portfolio technical
teams.

The Candidate
• A passionate security professional keen to use their technical skills to make a difference in a global, complex and challenging environment.
• You are not expected to be an expert, but the role requires technical insight (CompTIA Security/CASP+ or equivalent an advantage)
• Experience of working effectively in an agile environment, confidence with tools such as Confluence and Jira

• Excellent organisation, time management, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Resilient, can-do attitude and ability to work as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills and able to be understood by both technical and nontechnical
personnel

• Ability to work with & build relationships with technical counterparts in global teams
