About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our AUK – Submarines – AUKUS Business Unit based at Adelaide.

Reporting to the Cyber Security Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organisation’s digital assets across various domains including cloud, web, application, IT, and OT infrastructure. You will provide guidance on security design, policies, and standards, ensuring that our systems and data are protected against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Your responsibilities may span security operations, architecture, governance, risk, and compliance activities, contributing to the overall security posture of the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide security input and guidance during the design and implementation of new systems and technologies
  • Evaluate and recommend security controls to mitigate risks associated with cloud, web, application, IT, and OT infrastructure
  • Provide advice on security policies, standards, and best practices to ensure adherence across the organisation
  • Perform threat hunting by monitoring and analysing security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents or breaches
  • Manage vulnerability management processes, including identification, assessment, prioritisation, and remediation of security vulnerabilities
  • Implement and maintain data loss prevention measures to safeguard sensitive information
  • Conduct security tests and investigations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
  • Assist with governance, risk, and compliance activities, including conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with security policies and regulatory mandates

About YOU

  • Cyber Security, ICT or Engineering related degree or equivalent
  • Working experience in a cyber security role, with a strong understanding of security principles, technologies, and practices
  • Demonstrated experience with Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, cloud computing platforms, web application security, network security, or industrial control systems (OT)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Defence security clearance NV1 or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
