About the role:
Role – Area Financial Controller with German linguistic capability
Maersk nomenclature – Area Accounting Manager with German linguistic capability
Experience required –
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Accounting to Reporting function with atleast 2 years of leadership experience
- Experience in local GAAP, IFRS. Preferred knowledge on German/Dutch GAAP
Education –
- A Master’s degree or any professionally qualified in finance with equivalent experience is preferred
Skills required –
- Language and communication skills – Proficient verbal and written communication in German and English are required for interacting with stakeholders
- ERP systems - SAP/S4HANA experience would be added advantage
- Domain knowledge – End to end understanding of Accounting to Reporting activities that include periodic book close, audit support, meeting compliance requirements and supporting the finance leadership with various MIS reports
Key responsibilities -
- Close financial books accurately and on time, ensuring prompt financial reporting
- Maintain Financial Data Integrity for respective Business Area / Entity
- Provide leadership to the team and oversee daily operational activities
- Engage with auditors to meet their requirements and assist during internal and external audits
- Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to support Finance leadership’s decision-making
- Identify performance or process inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues

Due to the nature of this role, we may need to extend working hours during month end reporting to ensure meeting up the group deadlines. Maersk follows the holiday calendar of Denmark to ensure that the month-end reporting runs smoothly and without any issues.
