As a Capacity Manager at LI, you will be responsible for ensuring that our Microsoft Azure cloud services are optimally configured to meet our performance, capacity, and availability needs, following ITIL V4 management practices. You will also play a key role in financial operations (FinOps), ensuring that our cloud costs are managed efficiently. Additionally, you will review technical debt and make recommendations to remove resources no longer required. You will work closely with various teams to monitor, analyse, and enhance the performance, scalability, and availability of our cloud-based services and applications.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Capacity Management: Develop and implement capacity management strategies to ensure the cloud infrastructure can handle current and future workloads.
  • Performance Management: Continuously monitor the performance of cloud resources and services, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • FinOps Management: Implement and manage financial operations practices to optimise cloud spend, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
  • Technical Debt Review: Regularly review technical debt and make recommendations to decommission or repurpose resources no longer required.
  • Reporting: Generate and present detailed reports on capacity, performance, financial metrics, and technical debt to stakeholders.
  • Incident Management: Collaborate with the support team to resolve performance and availability-related incidents and ensure minimal impact on service delivery.
  • Forecasting: Predict future capacity requirements based on historical data, growth trends, and business forecasts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and business teams to align capacity, performance, availability, financial strategies, and technical debt management with business objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of capacity, performance, FinOps, and technical debt management processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Substantial experience at engaging, influencing and managing stakeholders across departmental and organisational boundaries up to and including director level.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including but not limited to Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure App Services, Azure Monitor.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, such as scalability, elasticity, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimisation of cloud-based applications and services.
  • Proficiency with Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and other monitoring and logging tools.
  • Proven experience in capacity planning and management within a cloud environment, following ITIL V4 best practices.
  • Understanding of financial operations in a cloud context, including cost management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in identifying, analysing, and managing technical debt within cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance and availability data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance and availability issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, ITIL V4 Foundation, or similar are highly desirable.
