As the UK’s leading beer, cider and pub business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved beers and ciders, and a leading player in the international drinks industry.

We're the name behind a host of brilliant brands, from Inch’s to Birra Moretti and many more. And with around 2,400 pubs to our name in the UK, our Star Pubs business is all about putting pubs at the centre of community life.

But we’re more than just great beers and ciders – we’re a place where passion meets purpose, careers are crafted as carefully as our brews, and enjoyment of life is part of the job.

We’re looking for a commercially driven Senior Customer Manager to accelerate growth across volume, revenue, profit and market share within our Off-Trade team.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a customer team managing one of the UK’s largest grocer accounts, with a clear remit to drive growth across key areas. You’ll own a key channel within the account that is a priority for growth, offering a strong platform to deliver commercial impact.

You’ll join a team that has built strong, strategic relationships across both Head Office and regional contacts, playing a key role in driving share performance across retail and catering channels.

You’ll be one of the key contacts for this grocer, managing the account, negotiating the annual agreements, pricing and promotions, and will create and champion customer understanding throughout Heineken UK in order to deliver a joined-up approach that satisfies the customer’s and Heineken’s needs.

You’ll be part of a dynamic & high performing team. You will need great teamwork skills to ensure that plans align and deliver for the whole group and you’ll partner closely with other teams and functions, develop consumer, shopper and customer category-based skills, and drive accuracy in jointly agreed brand forecasts.

Given the scale and visibility of the account, this role offers strong exposure across the business and a clear platform for progression within the commercial function.

Key Accountabilities

  • To be the main contact for the grocer account and ensure we deliver fantastic customer management.
  • Prime responsibility for negotiation and delivering all commercial variables e.g. promotional support, promotional pricing and trading terms, and creating long-term agreements with the customer to deliver commercial KPIs
  • To work closely with the account leadership and be their recognised category partner of choice – developing plans that grow their drinks category & grow HEINEKEN Share.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a strong all-rounder for this role. This job requires someone who can build strong relationships, use their data analyst and interpretation skills to create winning plans, sell & negotiate, and enjoy being part of the bigger customer team.

If you’re relationship driven, have experience managing a budget or P&L and are passionate about creating fantastic plans which will influence nationwide convenience stores and Horeca outlets, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll bring :

  • Experience in a similar commercial or customer-facing role (5+ years)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - able to create and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders;
  • Commercial acumen;
  • A growth mindset and ability to create strategically aligned plans;
  • Evidence of being a strong team player
  • Out of home / on trade channel exposure would be useful for this role
