Who we are

As the UK’s leading beer, cider and pub business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved beers and ciders, and a leading player in the international drinks industry.

We're the name behind a host of brilliant brands, from Inch’s to Birra Moretti and many more. And with around 2,400 pubs to our name in the UK, our Star Pubs business is all about putting pubs at the centre of community life.

But we’re more than just great beers and ciders – we’re a place where passion meets purpose, careers are crafted as carefully as our brews, and enjoyment of life is part of the job.

We're proud to be a certified Great Place to Work®, as well as being recognised as one of the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation™.

About the role

Reporting to the Safety and Environmental Manager, you’ll play an essential role onsite by ensuring compliance to our 3 year plans, obtaining necessary permits (Environmental) & continuity of operating within safety frameworks (e.g. ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification) . You’ll also deputise in absence of the Safety Manager. In addition to this your core responsibilities include:

  • Act as a secondary contact with external agencies and regulators, and support managers in investigating safety and environmental accidents and incidents
  • Review risk assessments and action plans, and keep safety policy and departmental safety documents up to date
  • Carry out audits, prepare departments for the annual cross-site compliance audit, and help departments prepare for ISO 14001 certification audits while maintaining related procedures
  • Provide information for, and attend, site safety, environment and management meetings, and chair the Behavioural Safety Steering Group and attend the Safety Representatives Team Meeting
  • Complete Heineken safety and environment reports and monthly KPI reports
  • Support awareness campaigns such as theme of the month, safety week and team talks, and support the development and delivery of safety training, including risk assessment, permit to work, fire warden, behavioural safety and accident investigation
  • Help meet environmental permit (IPPC) conditions and maintain the Site Protection and Monitoring Plan, own the Duty of Care Register, Waste Manual and waste improvement plan, assist in delivering the Safety Improvement Plan, and act as deputy on the Safety Pillar

About the team

Helping millions of consumers enjoy our beers and ciders is a real team effort. As a Supply Chain colleague, you’ll be part of the biggest function in HEINEKEN UK!

From barley to bar, our Supply Chain produces high-quality beers and ciders, prioritising safety, sustainability and innovation to keep our operations running smoothly.

You’ll be based in the Safety, Health & Environment team who is responsible for the protection of people, the site and the wider environment. They ensure the brewery operates safely, legally and responsibly, helping every department build safe and environmentally sound working habits.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and robust individual who is confident in their responsibility for providing advice and support to ensure risk assessments are maintained and effective control measures are in place across site.

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A Safety or Environmental Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or ISEP membership (Previously AIEMA)
  • Proficiency in Power BI and / or Excel for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation with ability to present findings clearly and critically analyse.
  • Some exposure in safety improvement projects or initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organisational levels with ability to build relationships and influence varying stakeholders.

If you want to grow and develop your skills, gain hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies and sharpen your problem-solving abilities, we want to hear from you.
