Senior Platform Engineer

📍 Location: London (E1)

🖥 Hybrid working as standard: 2 days a week in the office, the other 3 days remote (or office if you prefer)

Our mission:

• Two in five people in the UK rent their homes. Our mission? To be the gold standard platform for renting

• We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, the landlord, and the tenant. We knew Generation Rent would lead to more tenants, with higher digital expectations and we were confident we could provide a solution

• Like all scale-ups it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster journey, but we’re now stronger than ever, with around 3,000 letting agents using the platform, exciting and varied products and 350+ Goodlordians across the group supporting the mission!

The Opportunity:

• Own and evolve a critical Azure platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security in production

• Design and deliver cloud-native solutions including APIs, serverless, and event-driven systems

• Drive infrastructure improvements using Infrastructure-as-Code and support a Kubernetes-first roadmap

• Enhance observability and incident response through better monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CI/CD, developer experience, and platform practices

What we need from you:

• Strong experience with Azure and building cloud-native workloads (APIs, serverless, event-driven systems)

• Proven use of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform) in real production environments

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in managed cloud platforms

• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and monitoring best practices

• Ability to script, support CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers where needed

• Coaching and mentoring members of the team.
