Job Description

Gearset is looking for a Marketing Analyst to define, measure, and optimise how we capture and create market demand. You’ll partner closely with our GTM and Data teams to build out our marketing analytics capabilities from the ground up.

In this role, you will turn raw data into clear strategic direction for the wider business. You’ll serve as the vital link connecting marketing performance with overarching growth drivers.

What’s the opportunity for a Marketing Analyst at Gearset?

  • You’ll play a foundational role in ensuring our marketing data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.

  • You’ll act as the vital bridge between Marketing and the Data team, connecting marketing data with insights from across the business to build a fuller picture of growth drivers.

  • You'll be the driving force behind Marketing’s goal to become even more data-driven.

  • You'll help build a single source of truth for our marketing and digital data, monitoring performance proactively, and digging into the "why" behind the numbers to deliver insights that generate real value for Gearset.

  • You’ll have depth in either CRM/ funnel data or ad tech, web, and intent data, ideally both, with a curiosity for emerging GTM data sources such as product signals and call recordings.

What you’ll achieve

  • Partner with Data Engineering to consolidate marketing data in our warehouse, bringing together a wide range of datasets to create a strong foundation for marketing analytics and reporting.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to produce meaningful business metrics that monitor and diagnose marketing performance.

  • Using the data models and KPIs you’ve helped shape, you’ll diagnose fluctuations and analyse the impact of new campaigns and initiatives.

  • Delivering deep-dive analyses, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement and partner with marketing stakeholders to measure the impact of new campaigns and initiatives.

  • Contextualise shifts in performance against external factors such as market conditions, seasonality, product changes, and competitor activity.

  • Add to the existing semantic layer, build accessible dashboards, and give teams across Gearset the tools to explore data independently.

  • Champion the use of these tools across Marketing, promoting good data habits and visibility of marketing performance.

About you

  • Proven track record of building marketing analytics capabilities from scratch and self-directing in ambiguous, fast-growing environments.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable narratives that influence senior GTM leadership and drive business decisions.

  • Experience and/or capability to present and effectively influence senior stakeholders

  • You have strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt, cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift), and modern BI tools (Omni, Looker) to build scalable data models and self-serve dashboards.

  • Experience with attribution modelling and/or testing methodology (e.g. incrementality testing, holdout groups, MTA)

  • A track record of analysis that has directly changed marketing decisions

  • Deep experience analysing complex, long B2B buyer journeys across CRM, web/intent, and ad tech data (MQL through to won business).

Great to haves

  • Experience working for a SaaS company

  • Experience using HubSpot or similar marketing automation/CRM platforms

Salary and benefits (the stuff you’d expect!)

  • Salary is £65k - £75k (depending on experience)

  • This is a full time opportunity, working Monday to Friday from our Cambridge office with the option of flexible home working (for most of us that looks like 2-3 days a week in the office)

  • Generous personal development budget for courses, conferences, or whatever is useful to your professional development in the role of up to £1500 per year

  • Top end hardware provided

  • Opportunity to join our Long Term Incentive Plan

  • Free lunch in the office

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (with the option to buy an extra 5 each year)

  • Company Pension Plan (matching up to 5%)

  • Bupa health care and dental insurance

  • Enhanced family leave from day 1, including 26 weeks full maternity/adoption pay, OTE-inclusive

  • Bupa Menopause Plan offering specialist consultations and support

  • Life Insurance & critical illness cover

  • Discounted gym membership, as well as a range of health and wellness benefits
