SEO, GEO & Content Marketing Manager
Job Description
About us
Flexa is the data-driven platform where people and companies find their perfect match. With over 3 billion data points, we give employers real-time insight into what people really want from work – and help candidates discover Flexa-verified companies where they’ll thrive.
Since we started in 2019, we’ve grown to have over 4 million users all over the world; we work with a huge variety of companies (including Vodafone, ASOS, Tesco, HEINEKEN and many more); and we’ve become a trusted voice on the future of work for candidates and employers alike. That growth shows no sign of slowing – and this role will be central to our next chapter.
About you
We're looking for a curious, driven search specialist to own our organic visibility strategy at a pivotal moment — both in traditional search and in the rapidly evolving world of AI-powered discovery. This is a role for someone who is confident in their SEO knowledge, but is equally curious about, and already learning and mastering GEO: understanding how large language models surface and cite information.
Alongside the search strategy, you'll have the opportunity to flex your writing skills across blogs and email to create content that’s engaging and highly discoverable. If you're the kind of person who finds algorithm update threads genuinely interesting, has already been experimenting with AI search optimisation, and wants a role where you can genuinely shape how a growing company is discovered online — this one's for you.
About the role
This is a high-ownership role reporting into the Head of Marketing, with a huge opportunity to shape Flexa’s growth trajectory. We already have strong organic visibility, a vast amount of unique data, and content that genuinely deserves to be discovered — but we believe we’re still only scratching the surface of what’s possible.
You’ll be responsible for defining and driving the strategy that turns Flexa into the go-to destination for people researching the future of work, flexible companies, career priorities, and what great work actually looks like today. That means thinking beyond traditional SEO tactics, and understanding how discovery is changing across both search engines and AI-generated answers.
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded and genuinely ambitious about growth: someone excited by the idea of doubling our traffic, spotting opportunities others haven’t yet seen, and building a search strategy that compounds over time. You’ll have the autonomy to experiment, own our wider content direction, and help shape how Flexa shows up across the internet — from Google rankings to ChatGPT citations.
This role will suit someone who wants more than execution. We want someone who sees search as a strategic growth channel, is excited by the pace of change in GEO and AI search, and wants to become one of the people helping define what great looks like in this space. You will own our organic search and AI discovery strategy from end to end, from setting the direction to rolling up your sleeves and delivering the work. While the bulk of the role will be SEO and GEO focused, you will also be confident when it comes to creating engaging, discovery-optimised content that positions Flexa and our clients as future of work experts.
This isn't a role where strategy gets handed down to you: you'll be the one defining our approach, identifying the biggest opportunities, and shaping how Flexa is discovered for years to come.
Day to day tasks will include:
SEO & GEO (approx. 75% of your time):
Planning, executing and iterating on SEO strategies across Flexa’s website to drive organic growth
Collaborating with our development team where needed for more technical SEO implementation
Researching and targeting keywords across traditional search engines (Google, Bing etc.) and AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.) to improve our visibility
Optimising, auditing and refreshing existing content and web pages for both traditional search rankings and visibility within LLM/AI-generated responses
Structuring content and metadata to improve Flexa’s chances of being cited or featured in AI-generated answers (GEO best practices)
Conducting regular SEO audits and translating findings into clear, prioritised recommendations for the Flexa team, and for our clients
Monitoring and reporting back on organic performance using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, and SEMrush, and experimenting with new techniques for tracking emerging GEO visibility metrics
Staying current with algorithm updates, AI search developments and industry trends, and proactively bringing new ideas to the team
Content Marketing (approx. 25% of your time):
Creating SEO-optimised blog content aligned to Flexa’s B2B and D2C audiences, gathering contributions from Flexa clients and collaborating with them as needed
Creating ideas for new types of content to engage our users e.g. quizzes, guidebooks, longer-form reports etc.
Experimenting with different formats for our regular newsletters via email and on LinkedIn
Reviewing our automated email journeys to ensure they remain relevant and engaging
Must-haves:
3-4 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a clear track record of improving organic rankings and traffic volumes
Solid working knowledge of GEO and optimising content for AI search environments (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews), and a curiosity to keep learning as it evolves
Proficiency with core SEO tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, and SEMrush
Strong understanding of on-page SEO principles including content structure, internal linking, metadata and schema markup
Confident content writer — able to produce clear, engaging blog posts and emails with minimal editorial input
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, spot opportunities and communicate them simply to non-specialists
Highly motivated and can manage their own workload and priorities in a fast-moving, remote-first, scale-up environment; we are a team of people who love their roles and the impact we make
Nice-to-haves:
Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth company, where priorities shift quickly and resourcefulness is essential
Experience working within the HR tech space
Experience building or earning backlinks as part of an off-page SEO strategy
Experience with email marketing platforms, and an understanding of how SEO thinking applies to email content
Familiarity with prompt engineering or an understanding of how LLMs process and rank source material
Experience in dealing with clients and liaising with external contacts as a face of the business
Please note: If you don’t match all of the above criteria, but feel that your background or additional transferable skills make you a strong fit for this role, we’d love to hear from you!
