At evaluagent, we are looking for our next QA Engineer to advocate for quality, ensure comprehensive test coverage, and embed best practices within our team.

Overview:
Salary - In the region of £40,000 - £45,000, based on your previous experience
Location - Home based in the UK
Type - Full-time, 40 hours, Permanent
Reports to - QA Lead
What you'll do:
- Champion quality within the team, ensuring appropriate test types are performed prior to deployment.
- Advocating for the customer and maintaining a collaborative approach where everyone is responsible for quality and testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and the development team to analyse and question requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding.
- Perform Test Analysis of functional and non-functional specifications, identifying test scenarios, and creating test cases while considering test data requirements.
- Develop and maintain business-facing test automation using tools like Cypress with JavaScript as the primary language.
- Add and maintain Synthetic Tests to our CI/CD pipeline and monitor performance and stability of changes through Datadog.
- Evolve our approach to shifting testing both left and right to ensure we minimize feedback loops in both development and on production.
- Execute manual and automated tests, report defects, and track their resolution.
- Test manually and support the teams' manual efforts where automation is not yet possible or cost-effective.
- Enhance testability and embed best quality practices within the team to ensure continuous improvement.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, with a solid background in software testing and quality assurance in an Agile environment.
- Proficiency in test methodologies and design techniques - any exposure to security, performance, accessibility or usability is beneficial.
- Experience with test automation in at least one programming language e.g. Java, Typescript, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to Application Monitoring tools such as Datadog, including experience monitoring performance regressions and the stability of new releases.
