Job Description

Senior Strategy & Operations Manager | Menus and Value

As the S&O Lead for Restaurant Menus and Value, you will be responsible for defining the strategy and jointly overseeing the execution of our technical and non-technical roadmaps.

This is a high-impact leadership role sitting at the intersection of Commercial, Product and Operations. You’ll be part of the Merchant Strategy & Operations (S&O) team and partner closely with a wide range of teams to translate strategy into execution.

This role requires strong analytical thinking, structured communication, and sound commercial judgment. We are looking for a "strategic operator" - someone who can craft a vision document but isn't afraid to dive into the unit economics or technical constraints of a product rollout.

Remit

Value Strategy: you will help our restaurants succeed in a highly competitive market, enabling a high quality, affordable selection for deliveroo’s customers. For example, this includes how we integrate with restaurant loyalty programmes, how we measure and set targets for restaurant pricing, how we define bundling strategy and how we encourage restaurant investment into the most efficient offer mechanics.

Menu Strategy: you will optimise how our merchants’ menu is structured, digitized, and surfaced to consumers on the deliveroo platform to drive conversion, growth and operational efficiency. For example this includes defining the most effective merchant tooling and identifying the highest impact investments we can make in restaurant menus today and in future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy definition: Collaborate with Product and Commercial leadership to identify white-space opportunities, playing a pivotal role in shaping the annual product strategy, initiative strategy and and feeding the long-term operational roadmap.

  • Voice of our merchant partners: Jointly define the long-term product vision and research roadmap with Engineering and Product leads, acting as the primary advocate for merchant unit economics and commercial health to ensure technical roadmaps deliver market-leading value.

  • Expertise and knowledge management: Be the go to expert on your topic areas, pushing the business to think about the wider market, customer needs and competitive benchmarking. Maintain and own an up-to-date knowledge base, ensuring both internal teams and external partners have access to relevant, high-quality product information.

  • Cross-functional leadership: Jointly lead a dedicated "pod" (dedicated working group across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Experience) to drive ambitious OKRs across commercial, product, and operational metrics.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a bridge between product management, commercial teams, go to market, and customer/partner care to ensure organizational alignment for every major product release.

  • Launch Planning: Develop comprehensive, high-fidelity launch plans that include test & learn plans, milestone tracking, and strategic resource allocation to ensure seamless delivery.

  • Execution Oversight: Together with a cross-functional team, manage the end-to-end execution of launch activities, ranging from communications with restaurants to operational rollouts of new functionality.

  • Adoption & Impact: Ensure initiatives achieve meaningful adoption across partners and internal teams. Track performance, using ROI analysis and user insight to identify adoption barriers and optimise positioning, messaging, and enablement to maximise impact.

  • Go to market best practice: Jointly with the GTM team, continuously evolve our GTM approach to improve efficiency and maximize return on investment for all new features.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive high standards of operational rigour across the team, ensuring that processes are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with broader business objectives.

About You

  • 8+ years experience, preferably a mix of strategy (consulting or in house) and business operations in a tech or consumer business

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work from incomplete data sets in a fast paced environment

  • Collaborative mindset, able to work across a diverse set of teams and perspectives

  • Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence across teams and senior leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to drive structure, clarity and progress in complex environments

  • Commercial acumen and awareness of partner needs to ensure plans are going to land successfully with commercial teams and partners

  • High personal ownership and bias for action, while knowing when to escalate or seek alignment

  • Experience in coaching others on strategy skills, sharing expertise and helping the wider team grow

  • (Bonus) Experience in marketplaces, consumer tech, food delivery or multi-market businesses
