Job Description

ASOS is seeking an experienced Strategy and Operations Manager to join our dynamic Merchandising team in London. This pivotal role combines strategic planning with operational excellence, driving our merchandise planning capabilities in the fast-paced world of online fashion retail.

As a key member of the merchandising function, you'll work closely with the Merchandising Director and leadership team to optimise planning processes, ensure data accuracy, and empower teams with insights for informed decisions. You'll work at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and operations, collaborating cross-functionally to enhance planning systems and drive continuous improvement.

As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you'll be at the heart of ASOS's merchandise operations, shaping the systems and processes that drive our commercial success. Your expertise will directly impact how we plan, allocate, and manage inventory across our extensive product range, serving millions of fashion-forward customers worldwide.

You'll work with market-leading planning technology, lead process optimisation initiatives, and mentor team members while contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence. The Details

Operational Delivery

  • Support the Merchandise Director with operational change requirements
  • Coordinate the Merchandise Planning Evolution programme
  • Partner with Product Operations Director to represent planning needs
  • Align processes, tools, and governance for best-in-class planning

Tools, Data & Reporting

  • Lead implementation of new reporting tools and analytical platforms
  • Overhaul dashboards to deliver actionable performance insights
  • Work with BI, Data and Tech teams to define requirements
  • Standardise reporting outputs to support decision making

Capability & Development

  • Drive improved performance storytelling through enhanced analytical capability
  • Support Analyst Development Programme to build insight maturity
  • Identify tools and training that enable best-in-class insights

Qualifications

You're a strategic operator with a passion for process excellence and building capability. You thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and love using data to drive better decisions.

Required Experience

  • Experience in merchandise planning, operations, or equivalent retail/e-commerce roles
  • Strong understanding of retail planning processes, reporting and analytics
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional change initiatives across teams and systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • High proficiency in planning systems and BI platforms (Excel, SQL, PowerBI)
  • Strong data skills to inform decisions and create compelling stories

Desirable

  • Experience in large-scale retail or e-commerce, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth businesses
  • Experience working with Product, BI and Tech functions for operational improvements
