Job Description

Associate - Consumer Strategy & Operations

The Role

You’ll be part of the Consumer Strategy & Operations (S&O) team, the central function responsible for driving platform Monthly Active User (MAU) growth, order frequency, Average Order Value (AOV) and consumer-side P&L performance. In this role, you’ll support and lead high-impact workstreams that inform where and how we grow, improve the consumer experience, and shape how we drive long-term commercial value from our customers.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, Commercial, Analytics and local markets to translate strategy into execution. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong analytical thinking, structured communication, and sound commercial judgment. You’ll be working closely with Consumer S&O

  • What is the opportunity size for a potential new product feature? (e.g. allowing customers to schedule an order 5 days in advance)

  • What matters most to customers when deciding on lunch options? (e.g. price, speed, portion, calorie content)

  • How best can we support a particular market in delivering their growth targets?

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Insight

  • Work with senior team members to shape growth strategies across markets, segments, or verticals

  • Conduct analytical deep-dives to size opportunities, assess performance gaps, or inform new initiatives

  • Structure insights clearly to support decision-making and prioritisation by senior stakeholders

Performance & Planning

  • Own the tracking and reporting of key consumer KPIs (e.g. MAU, order rate, AOV) across workstreams

  • Collaborate with Analytics and Data Science to build frameworks for performance monitoring and forecasting

  • Support OKR planning and in-quarter performance reviews for initiatives you contribute to

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead specific workstreams or initiatives within broader cross-functional programs, such as:

    • Family Dinneroo, our family-focused midweek proposition in UKI

    • Trialling new missions in other markets such as ‘Treat’ in France or ‘Meals for One’ in UAE

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key point of contact for your workstreams with Product, Marketing, Finance, and local market teams

  • Help shape meeting cadences, updates and cross-functional operating models to keep work moving

  • Support knowledge sharing and playbook development to scale high-performing ideas

Qualities We're Looking For

  • DECISIVE AND INFLUENTIAL: you should thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with suggesting quick yet calculated recommendations and communicating persuasively, even in times of ambiguity. More importantly, you must have a strong desire to galvanise action within Deliveroo.

  • ANALYTICAL AND COLLABORATIVE: there will be number-crunching involved, but your role will also be about working with our teams in product, commercial, marketing and finance, understanding how your insights are aligned with the direction the business is heading in.

  • STRUCTURED: you will be working on multiple projects and competing priorities at the same time - from helping to lead a project, to analysing a problem and communicating recommendations in a concise manner, you will need to be methodical and rigorous in your approach.

Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 2-4 years experience in consulting, investment banking or in a strategy function; experience in logistics, e-commerce or a customer-obsessed business is a plus.

  • Has a hands-on mentality and is willing to get stuck into shaping how consumers engage with Deliveroo.

  • Can prioritise effectively while working on multiple projects concurrently and independently.

  • Is adept at conducting 80/20 analysis, drawing out business insights from that analysis and presenting findings and recommendations persuasively.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong problem solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions.

  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to break down large data sets and turn them into actionable insights

  • Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally.

  • London-based with a minimum of three days required in the office

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of core SQL.

  • Experience in a start-up environment (or as an entrepreneur).

Why Deliveroo?

At Deliveroo, we are transforming the way people think about food and shopping.

When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food, groceries and shopping to your home in minutes. Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us - a story we would love you to help us shape.

We want to be the definitive delivery company - the app you go to any time you have a hunger pang or last minute shopping need. We are providing people with limitless access to different cuisines, restaurants and shops, turning cooking from a chore to a choice, and giving people the freedom to eat and shop what they want, when they want, where they want.

We now operate in 10 markets, with over 100,000 riders who deliver orders from 160,000 restaurants and 13,000 grocery partners in over 500 towns and cities worldwide.

Benefits And Diversity

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer a wide range of competitive benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.

We believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing companies in an incredibly exciting space.
