Programme Manager

This role is based in ClientEarth’s China Office, where we leverage law and policy to advance environmental and climate rule of law. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Law and Policy Advisor to manage and expand a pivotal multi-stakeholder cooperation portfolio. Key responsibilities include developing strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders and managing sub-grants to NGOs. The objective is to foster an enabling ecosystem and mobilize collective action to drive the green transition both domestically and internationally.

This is a 2 year fixed-term contract

Main duties

• Assist the strategic development of environmental and climate projects that involve providing on-granting and capacity building to NGOs, and building an enabling ecosystem for multi-stakeholder collaboration, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and partner priorities.
• Assist with fundraising initiatives, including identifying funding opportunities, and inputting into grant proposals and reports.
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and partnership agreements with donors and implementing partners, primarily government-affiliated think tanks, universities, NGOs, and other research or public institutions.

Role requirements

• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in Mandarin
• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, or a closely related field
• Extensive project management experience within the non-profit sector, international development, or related fields
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and managing mid-to-large scale grants, including extensive hands-on experiences in administration of the full grant cycle to local partners, including stakeholder mapping, developing project ToC and implementation, budget and contract management, etc.
