
Job Description
The role
As Category Manager for Machinery and Electrical, you will take full responsibility for a global category and shape how we source, negotiate, and work with suppliers across regions.
You will:
- Own and drive category strategies that deliver real business impact
- Lead commercial negotiations and tenders with key suppliers
- Ensure we get the right balance between cost, quality, and availability
- Work closely with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and fleet
You will be part of a team that is actively changing how procurement supports the business, including Operational Excellence initiatives and stronger supplier collaboration.
What you will be doing
- Own a few global M&E categories, including supplier selection, contracts, and performance
- Drive tenders and negotiations – and be accountable for the outcome
- Analyze spending, identify cost drivers, and turn insights into actions
- Procurement support on major innovation projects, e.g. battery vessels
- Build and challenge supplier relationships to ensure performance and value creation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
- Support improvements in how we plan, source, and deliver goods to vessels
- Ensure our catalogues, pricing, and commercial terms are accurate and fit for purpose

You are likely to have:
- Experience within procurement, category management, or supply chain
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience working in complex, international environments
- Background within the Electrical area, i.e. batteries (preferred)
A relevant degree is expected, and you must be fluent in English and Mandarin.
