An opportunity to play your part –. In your capacity as a Senior Programme/Project Manager within the British Gas Business - Change & Delivery Programme & Project Management division, you will oversee, orchestrate, and ensure the successful execution of intricate, diverse, and significant projects or programmes. Your role involves employing a mix of agile, waterfall, and hybrid approaches to drive initiatives that collectively advance a unified series of objectives and advantages for the company.

The day to day –

  • Take complete control of the project/programme’s plan, budget, and scope, ensuring responsibility for the delivery of the necessary business outcomes and benefits, adhering to time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with every sector of the company, including auxiliary services, to formulate a project vision, business case, scope, impact, budget, plan, and structure that will fulfill the project’s vision and the anticipated business outcomes and benefits.
  • Implement and maintain robust project governance to facilitate decision-making, eliminate barriers to advancement, and settle any disputes among stakeholders, all while providing thorough reporting.
  • Oversee the project’s risks, issues, and interdependencies within the various workstreams of the project or programme, as well as the broader CBS portfolio, and develop countermeasures as necessary.
  • Guarantee the maximization of return on investment by evaluating all possibilities and alternatives throughout the project’s duration.
  • Guide communications with high-level stakeholders and oversee change management processes to ensure that changes are integrated into the business structure, thereby achieving the benefits as projected in the business case.

About you

  • In-depth experience in executing IT projects, ideally within settings that accommodate both waterfall and agile frameworks.
  • Established background in program and project management, with a focus on governance, strategic prioritisation, and assurance processes.
  • Competency in navigating vendor and third-party partnerships.
  • Proven ability to forge productive relationships at various tiers of the organization, bolstered by robust business insight and adaptability to change.
  • Comprehensive involvement in project, program, and portfolio management.
  • Expertise in managing interactions with high-level stakeholders.
  • Full-spectrum proficiency in the end-to-end management of projects and programs, encompassing technical delivery.
