Centrica LNG is an established LNG trading business within the Group’s Energy organisation. At our core Centrica Energy is a 800+ strong physical energy trader, with office hubs in London, Denmark and Singapore, and the platform to trade across LNG, gas, power and energy attributes – connecting producers and offtakers in the wholesale energy markets. #LI-CET

Centrica LNG’s innovative and successful business model is built around a portfolio of long-term flexible offtake and supply to major markets globally as well as exceptional relationships with key global LNG players.

This role is based out of our Singapore office.

The Job role:

The LNG Business Development team is responsible for originating, creating and executing mid and long-term LNG deals that builds the portfolio which is able to generate P&L for the LNG desk. It is a tight-knit, entrepreneurial team with global coverage that have delivered impressive portfolio growth in the past 5 years.

The role will be responsible for expanding Centrica LNG’s external counterparty network and market presence, with a particular focus on originating new LNG supply, offtake and portfolio optimisation opportunities. This requires the ability to build trusted senior relationships across the LNG value chain, identify commercially attractive opportunities, and convert market access into executable transactions that support portfolio growth and long-term value creation.

The role holder will identify, structure, articulate and execute LNG transactions to grow and manage the risks of the LNG portfolio beyond the prompt trading horizon. Close coordination is required with the LNG Trading team, Operations team and other support functions, and the individual is expected to be a team-player that is able to foster a collaborative and open working environment across the LNG business.

The Person:

• Proven track record originating and executing LNG transactions

• Demonstrated experience negotiating LNG SPAs and complex commercial agreements

• Excellent understanding of the LNG market and its commercial and operational characteristics

• Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing capability

• Strong commercial judgement and value creation mindset

• Ability to structure creative and complex transactions

• Strong interpersonal skills and customer presence

• Analytical with strong attention to detail

• International mind-set and able to work effectively in other cultures

• Availability to travel internationally.
