Centrica Energy is the global energy trading and logistics arm of Centrica Plc. We are looking for a Senior Enterprise Solution Architect, to join us on our journey!

What you’ll be doing:

Within the role of Senior Enterprise Solution Architect you will be responsible for ensuring that out Trading architecture is fit for the future ensuring systems, projects and enhancements are aligned to our business strategy across Centrica Energy. You will review current architecture across the function, challenge by posing the right questions and assist in building always with the future in mind.

This could look like ...

  • Proposing technical solutions and vendor products for business problems and work with project team to deliver the solutions

  • Liaising with all system owners and business verticals to ensure systems are fit for purpose and ensure a plan for keeping solutions for business up to date

  • Producing high level technical designs and liaise with relevant group Infrastructure, cloud, security and network teams to ensure it fits with Centrica’s Architectural patterns and practices

  • Proposing and modernising our tech stack.

How we work:

We embrace ‘flexible first’ as our guiding principle for flexible and hybrid working, which balances work, the team, and the individual need for flexibility. This role is based out of our London office, close to Marble Arch, with the team typically coming in 3 days per week. There will also be an occasional requirement to travel to our Denmark offices (Aalborg and Copenhagen).

A bit about you:

As an experienced Architect, you will possess the following:

  • Experience as a solution architect or enterprise architect within a Commodity Trading Organisation, Investment Bank or similar environment

  • Good exposure to front, middle and back office functions and their business processes

  • Experience in agile development methodologies

  • Experience with data warehousing and reporting and modern cloud and messaging patterns and practices

  • Experience of Message bus stack RabbitMQ, Service Bus, Kafka etc

  • Experience with General Cloud Architecture on Azure and AWS and the tech stack at architectural level

  • Understanding of ETRM systems especially Endur

  • General working knowledge of API connectivity stacks, etc

  • Demonstrable experience of contributing to complex projects/initiatives

  • Experience in working autonomously as well in medium to large teams

  • Able to meet tight deadlines and negotiate in a pressurised environment

  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills

  • Be motivated, tenacious and pro-active in achieving results.
