What you’ll do:
We have an exciting placement opportunity for a Business & Process Architecture Analyst within our Retail team.
In this role, you’ll be part of our Business Architecture Practice in the Transformation Management Office (TMO). You’ll help analyse, design and document the processes and requirements that enable efficient, compliant and customer focused operations. Working with colleagues across multidisciplinary teams, you’ll shape initiatives, define business and process needs, and ensure our Customer Operations processes are clearly documented and well controlled.
Your work will directly contribute to improving business outcomes, customer experiences and operational efficiency across British Gas.
During your placement you will:
Shape analysis activities in line with business priorities
Carry out root cause, data and impact analysis to support decision-making
Define current and future state processes and identify improvements
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Service Designers and other partners to deliver end-to-end solutions
Ensure Customer Operations processes are accurately documented within the agreed framework
Support process owners in maintaining models, controls and documentation aligned to customer journeys
Work closely with teams across Customer Operations, Field Delivery, Customer Contact, Technology and external partners
What we’re looking for: we’re looking for potential, not perfection. You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply:
Key Skills & Experience:
Experience in transformation, change, continuous improvement or regulated/complex operational environments
Strong process skills, including process design, mapping, governance and improvement (Lean or similar is desirable)
Proven ability to deliver better outcomes through analysis, problem-solving and process optimisation
Business analysis experience, including requirements gathering and translating needs into practical solutions
Understanding of compliance, controls, audit and risk management in process environments
Ability to interpret customer data and insights to inform design decisions
Strong leadership, analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
Professional certifications (e.g. Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, Process Design) are desirable
You’ll also have a dedicated business mentor, opportunities to meet senior leaders, and plenty of support to settle into your role.

Military Service Leavers (leaving the Forces or within the 2year CTP window at application)
Elite Athletes (international competition experience and/or professional UK sports experience within the last two years)
