Industry Governance Lead

Leicester with FlexFirst hybrid working

Overview

British Gas Business (BGB) is the leading provider of energy to SMEs in the UK and is focused on helping its customers energising a greener, fairer future.

Working as part of the BGB Conduct & Governance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a robust governance framework for all industry requirements including but not limited to Smart Framework and RECCo change proposals.

You will be required to visit some of our Leicester Spinneyside office at least once a week.

The Role

You will develop and maintain high quality reporting standards, providing progress tracking, milestone management, dashboard updates, risks and issues to key stakeholders and senior management.

You will manage all aspects of Governance against our industry codes, tracking, driving key stakeholders to deliver and monitor completed work, milestones achieved (KPIs, dashboards), remaining work and key dependencies. Through collaboration you will work to ensure compliance against conduct & industry standards in our frameworks and escalate any issues and corrective actions where necessary.

In addition, you will co-ordinate responses across British Gas Business to industry change you will ensure our views are well represented in the industry.

You will also support in the running of Governance meetings (including accurate minute taking) and forums.

As a key point of contact for all governance related information for industry change including but not limited to Smart and RECCo you will aid compliance.

The Person

Ideally we would like you to have knowledge of the energy industry and experience of governance frameworks and compliance. You have a track record of collaboration; advising and challenging stakeholders to achieve conduct and compliance objectives. You will enjoy process and understand the potential impact on customers. You can manage ambiguity and recommend improvements to drive process optimisation in a challenging environment.
