Centrica Energy Europe is looking for a talented finance professional to join our team in Aalborg. The energy industry is complex and going through a great transformation. The role

The main purpose of the role is to support the rest of Financial Control in ensuring high-quality financial reporting in accordance with either group instructions, IFRS or local GAAP. The role will hold a high variety of task within financial controlling tasks but will be highly focused on supporting the rest of Finance in standardization, optimisation, and automation of closing process through better utilization of systems as well as new technologies.

Common task could include, but are not limited to:

  • Participation in month closing processes within Financial Controlling.

  • Participation in preparation of audit documentation for legal entities within Centrica Energy Europe.

  • Participation in the preparation of annual reports for the entities within Centrica Energy Europe.

  • Reconciliation/validation responsible for a selection of accounting areas across Centrica Energy Europe’s entities.

  • Operating responsible for a selection of internal controls.

  • Participation in the ongoing enhancement of the internal control framework.

  • Support the rest of the Finance team in the standardization, optimisation, and automation of the preparation of reconciliation models, accrual models, and analyses models etc.

  • Support the rest of the Finance team in better utilization and enhance the use of SAP BPC in month end reporting and consolidation as well as technologies within ERP systems, Power BI, MS Excel etc.

  • Support the rest of the Centrica Energy Europe Finance teams in ensuring an ongoing process optimisation/streamlining and automatization that enables Finance to support Centrica Energy’s growth journey.

Limited travel between our locations in London, Copenhagen and Antwerp is to be expected. We are a hybrid workplace and therefore you will be able to work from home a few days per week, but we would expect you to be in the office at least 3 days every week.

You will join a team of experienced financial controllers, student assistants and other specialized finance professionals.

About you

We are looking for a talented colleague to start their career or continue their development in the energy industry. The ideal candidate would have:

  • Master’s degree in economics, auditing or similar.

  • At least 2 years’ of working experience in an international environment or as an auditor.

  • Able to easily communicate in English (both speaking and writing).

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS experience is an advantage, but not a requirement).

  • IT skills within finance related systems such as ERP, MS Excel, Power BI etc. (Business Central or SAP experience is an advantage, but not a requirement).

  • Ability to optimize and automate processes.

  • A strong personal drive, a sense of accountability, curiosity, and desire to be part of a world class finance team.

  • An agile and continuous improvement mindset.

  • A well-structured working style with a good sense of detail.
