Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

At PH Jones, our mission is to mend it.

Our teams have been at the heart of communities for over 50 years. Partnering with local authorities and associations, we support social housing across the UK – installing, upgrading and repairing heating and electrical systems. But we’re not just living off our legacy. We’re on a mission to make the UK’s social housing sector greener and more energy efficient.

At PH Jones, we're looking for an inspiring and customer-focused Area Manager to lead our Social Housing contract in South London.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced leaders who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence.

If you enjoy creating positive outcomes for customers, supporting people to succeed, and making a real commercial impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

As an Area Manager, you'll lead and support a team delivering essential services to customers within the social housing sector. You'll play a key role in ensuring we continue to provide safe, efficient and high-quality services while creating an environment where colleagues can thrive.

You'll work closely with clients, stakeholders and operational teams to drive performance, improve customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Through coaching, leadership and collaboration, you'll help shape a culture that puts customers and colleagues at the heart of everything we do.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing, customer-focused team.

  • Driving excellent customer outcomes through a right-first-time approach.

  • Using performance data and insights to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Managing client relationships and working collaboratively to achieve shared objectives.

  • Supporting the resolution of complex customer issues and identifying opportunities to prevent recurrence.

  • Creating a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

  • Ensuring teams have the skills, knowledge and support needed to perform at their best.

  • Managing operational and regulatory risks while maintaining compliance with business and industry standards.

  • Making informed commercial decisions that balance customer, colleague and business needs.

As this role supports customers and teams across South London, regular travel throughout the region will be required, so you'll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.

What we're looking for:

We're interested in hearing from people with a passion for leadership and customer service. You don't need to tick every box to apply. If you believe you have the skills and experience to succeed in this role, we'd encourage you to apply.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Gas qualifications (CCN1 & CENWAT) and technical gas experience is essential.

  • A proven track record of leading, motivating and developing successful teams.

  • Experience delivering strong customer outcomes within a regulated or operational environment.

  • The ability to use data and performance insights to drive improvement and achieve results.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and inspire others.

  • An understanding of health, safety and compliance responsibilities.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to make balanced business decisions.

  • Knowledge of data protection and information security requirements.

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too.
