The Role

The Senior Consultant is a core part of our emerging Infrastructure team. You will deliver impact across UK infrastructure sectors by enabling innovation to move from ideas to adoption at scale, improving carbon, productivity and safety outcomes across infrastructure systems.

We are collaborative by nature and believe that the most effective way to deliver impact is through collaborative innovation. Working across sectors with government, major infrastructure clients, their supply chains and the wider innovation ecosystem reduces duplication, shares risk and accelerates solutions to common challenges.
The Senior Consultant will identify, shape, secure and deliver new work. This includes leading early project phases, shaping bids and funding proposals, closing opportunities, and taking responsibility for delivery, either directly or by coordinating multidisciplinary teams across the Catapult.

The role requires deep understanding of the systemic and organisational barriers limiting innovation adoption in infrastructure such as commercial, regulation and assurance. It also requires strong understanding of what is possible with state‑of‑the‑art technologies, tools and approaches, and the ability to work with the market to demonstrate, de‑risk and enable adoption in practice. Accelerating the adoption and scaling of innovation supports CPC’s mission to transform infrastructure challenges into opportunities for innovative businesses
The role requires deep sector expertise across the infrastructure value chain, with particular emphasis on utilities, energy, water and transport. You will also need a clear understanding of the constraints and opportunities of cross sector collaboration. You will build strategic partnerships with infrastructure clients, suppliers, government and regulators. Experience working with or for major public infrastructure clients, and hands‑on experience of construction delivery on large capital programmes, is highly valued.

Candidates will bring strong technical credibility in one or more of the following areas: infrastructure delivery, digital and industrialised construction, infrastructure carbon reduction, Infratech, ConTech, Safetytech or whole‑life asset management, alongside a grounded understanding of how major capital programmes are delivered in practice.
