About the role

The Total Reward Design & Delivery Specialist plays a key role in shaping, implementing and embedding BT's reward strategy. As part of the Work, Reward & Employee Relations Design & Delivery team, you will partner with stakeholders across People & Culture and the wider business to design and deliver reward solutions that support organisational performance, colleague experience and long-term talent outcomes.

You will act as a trusted reward specialist, providing expert advice across a broad range of reward disciplines, including pay, incentives, benefits, recognition and performance. Working across both cyclical reward activities and strategic transformation programmes, you will help ensure reward frameworks remain simple, inclusive, commercially effective, and aligned to BT's future workforce and business priorities.

This role combines deep reward expertise with strategic thinking, business partnering and change delivery capability. As part of a broader Design & Delivery team, you will be expected to operate as a T-shaped practitioner, bringing specialist reward expertise while developing the breadth of knowledge required to contribute across organisational design, organisational effectiveness and employee relations initiatives as business needs evolve.

Working across specialist disciplines, you will help shape integrated people solutions, translate future business requirements into practical interventions, and support the successful delivery of change across BT.

What you’ll be doing

•Operate as a T-shaped practitioner, applying deep reward expertise while developing broader capability across organisational design, organisational effectiveness and employee relations to support the delivery of integrated people solutions and business outcomes.
•Contribute to the development of long-term reward and workforce strategies by leveraging external market insight, emerging trends and best practice to help shape future priorities and strategic direction.
•Identify opportunities to enhance organisational performance, colleague engagement and business outcomes through innovative, commercially focused reward and people practices.
•Design, develop and implement reward solutions across pay, incentives, benefits, recognition and performance that support BT's strategy, workforce priorities and colleague experience.

Essential Skills / Experience

•Significant experience working within reward, compensation and benefits, total reward or people consulting environments.
•Strong technical knowledge across multiple areas of reward, including pay, incentives, benefits, recognition and performance.
•Experience designing, delivering and embedding reward programmes or people-related change initiatives.
•Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.

Desirable Skills / Experience

•Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how reward supports business performance, talent attraction, retention and colleague engagement.
•Experience translating business challenges and workforce priorities into practical, effective reward solutions.
•Strong project management and change delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver successful outcomes.
•Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex reward concepts in a simple, engaging and actionable way.
•Experience gained within a consulting, advisory, professional services or in-house centre of expertise environment.
•Experience working within complex, large-scale organisations and managing a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
•Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery and execution.
•Experience supporting organisational design, workforce transformation and business change programmes.
•Knowledge of reward governance, policy development, compliance and risk management.
•Experience working with complex, multi-business-unit reward frameworks and structures.
•Professional reward qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
