Job Description

Job Req ID: 61892

Posting Date: 14th August 2026

Function: HR

Location: London or Bristol

About the role

The role is responsible for translating the accountabilities of the People & AI Transformation Team into practical, reusable workforce enablement strategies across BT Business. It plays a key role in turning our AI-first ambition into clear workforce plans, capability-building interventions, adoption frameworks, and evidence-based recommendations that HR Business Partners, leaders, and business enablement teams can apply effectively.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & AI Transformation, this position sits within the UK Business People Transformation Team, forming part of the wider People & AI Transformation Team. There may be up to two vacancies recruited under this role profile.

This role would suit someone who is commercially minded, analytically strong, and confident operating at the intersection of people, technology, and transformation. The successful candidate will be able to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and drive outcomes through collaboration with existing business owners, rather than taking ownership of workflow redesign or operating model delivery themselves.

What you’ll be doing

•Partner with HRBPs, L&D teams, and business leaders to translate AI strategy, workforce plans, and priority use cases into practical workforce actions and transformation roadmaps.
•Identify opportunities for AI to reshape work, roles, skills, capacity, and colleague experience, while challenging legacy activities that no longer support business priorities.
•Develop frameworks, playbooks, guidance, and tools that enable leaders to redesign work, embed AI, and build sustainable ways of working.
•Advise on the introduction of digital colleagues and autonomous agents, including workforce integration, operating model design, role clarity, accountability, and value realisation.
•Act as the people transformation lead for AI initiatives, ensuring workforce implications are understood and reflected in strategic workforce planning.
•Partner with Group Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and cross-functional teams to shape, translate, and implement enterprise-wide AI transformation priorities across the Business.
•Drive AI fluency at scale through leadership engagement, manager toolkits, adoption campaigns, communities of practice, bootcamps, and capability-building programmes.
•Use workforce, skills, adoption, and use-case data to identify capability gaps, redeployment opportunities, role evolution requirements, and areas where capacity can be released.
•Support AI Accelerator, bootcamp, and community initiatives by translating business use cases into capability pathways, learning solutions, and adoption interventions.
•Develop and embed people-focused operating model artefacts, governance processes, and guardrails that enable effective collaboration between humans and AI.
•Create leadership-ready insights, dashboards, and narratives that demonstrate adoption, value realisation, risks, workforce impacts, and investment outcomes.
•Capture, curate, and scale best practice, lessons learned, and high-value use cases to accelerate AI transformation and drive continuous improvement across the Business.

Essential Skills / Experience

•Strategic workforce thinking: able to connect AI strategy, operating model direction, role evolution, skills and redeployment into practical business actions.
•Experience supporting enterprise-wide capability, adoption or change programmes, ideally involving digital, AI, automation or future-of-work themes.
•Consulting-style stakeholder engagement: strong facilitation, interviewing, workshop design and senior stakeholder preparation skills.

Desirable Skills / Experience

•Understanding of AI-enabled workforce transformation, including how digital colleagues, autonomous agents, and AI-driven workflows impact roles, accountability, and leadership.
•Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret workforce, adoption, and operational data and translate insights into practical recommendations.
•Experience developing frameworks and guidance, turning complex or ambiguous challenges into clear playbooks, toolkits, and leadership resources.
•Knowledge of AI adoption and capability building, with an understanding of how to drive confidence, fluency, and responsible AI use across diverse audiences.
•Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence, lead workshops, and prepare senior stakeholders for change.
•Excellent communication and storytelling skills, producing clear and compelling business cases, insights, reports, and decision-making materials.
•Collaborative and influential approach, able to work effectively across HR, L&D, Workforce Planning, business, and technology teams without direct authority.
•Experience in workforce transformation, strategic workforce planning, organisational design, people consulting, HR analytics, AI adoption, or broader business transformation.
•Experience using people, skills, adoption, or operational data to support decision-making and drive business outcomes.
•Experience creating practical tools, frameworks, or guidance for leaders, managers, and HR teams.
•Exposure to AI technologies, automation, Copilot, Copilot Studio, agents, or digital workforce initiatives is desirable.
