About the role

• You will design, build and optimise advanced customer messaging solutions using Java, React or Angular, AWS, and SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• You will shape robust, scalable, secure and high-performance architectures using Clean Architecture and microservices principles.
• You will work with engineering, product management and business stakeholders to deliver effective messaging solutions across multiple channels.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the end-to-end design of messaging solutions using Java, WebLogic, Spring Boot, Microsoft Graph mail API, React or Angular, AWS, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Apply Clean Architecture and microservices principles to create modular, testable and maintainable solutions with high availability and low latency.
• Design scalable and cost-effective cloud architectures using AWS services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor development teams on solution implementation, engineering standards and adoption of new technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and delivery teams to define requirements and align technical solutions with business goals.
• Architect SQL and NoSQL data solutions that support efficient processing, data integrity and security.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, roadmaps and technical specifications for stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Assess industry developments in architecture, cloud and messaging technologies, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Design messaging solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, security, scalability and performance.

Essential Skills / Experience

• 10 to 12 years of professional experience in software development and solution architecture, including customer messaging systems.
• Strong experience with Java, WebLogic, Spring Boot, and web technologies such as React or Angular.
• Expertise in designing AWS cloud solutions, with hands-on experience of services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS and API Gateway.
• Experience designing SQL and NoSQL data solutions using technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, microservices architecture and system design patterns.
• Experience leading and mentoring development teams while promoting engineering standards and high-quality delivery.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or TOGAF certification.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments and participating in Agile ceremonies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab or AWS CodePipeline.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies and integration patterns, including IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka or WebLogic JMS.
• Experience designing high-throughput messaging systems for high availability, disaster recovery and fault tolerance.
