About the role

We are looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Consultant who can work independently and take complete ownership of ABAP RICEFW objects in a complex, integrated SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will have strong hands on ABAP expertise, deep understanding of SD, FI, and MM/SRM modules, and solid experience in integrations using OData, APIs, PI/PO, and SAP BTP.
Experience with S/4HANA ABAP, CDS views, performance optimization, and SAP change management processes is highly desirable.

What you’ll be doing

ABAP Development & Delivery
• Independently design, develop, and deliver ABAP RICEFW objects:
o Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows
• Develop and enhance solutions using classical and object oriented ABAP.
• Own full development lifecycle from requirement analysis to build, testing, and deployment.

Functional Collaboration (SD / FI / MM / SRM)
• Work closely with functional consultants across SD, FI, and MM/SRM to understand business processes and technical requirements.
• Possess strong awareness of SAP standard tables, data models, and document flow related to logistics and finance.
• Support impact analysis and estimation for functional changes.

Integration & Interfaces
• Design and develop integrations using:
o OData services
o REST/SOAP APIs
o PI/PO and middleware based interfaces
o SAP BTP integration services
• Troubleshoot and resolve cross system issues in complex integration landscapes.

S/4HANA & Modern ABAP
• Develop solutions aligned with S/4HANA ABAP principles and clean core concepts.
• Build and optimize CDS Views, including analytical and transactional scenarios.
• Adapt legacy ABAP objects for S/4HANA simplifications and performance improvements.

System Maintenance & Optimization
• Perform SAP Note analysis and implementation.
• Handle system upgrade and support activities including SPAU and SPDD adjustments.
• Conduct ABAP performance tuning using SQL optimization, code inspector, and runtime analysis tools.

Testing, Transport & Release Management
• Support unit testing, IST, and UAT, including defect resolution.
• Follow disciplined version management and transport management practices.
• Work with ChaRM (Change Request Management) for controlled change delivery across landscapes.

Documentation & Governance
• Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation:
o Technical specifications
o Interface design documents
o Code and configuration documentation
• Ensure compliance with development standards, naming conventions, and audit requirements.

Essential Skills / Experience

Technical Exposure:
• 6–8+ years of strong, hands on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Proven expertise in RICEFW objects across large SAP landscapes.
• Strong experience with:
o OData services and APIs
o PI/PO and BTP integrations
o Performance optimization
o SPAU / SPDD and SAP Notes

Functional Exposure:
• Hands on ABAP experience supporting SD, FI, and MM/SRM modules.
• Strong understanding of SAP tables, data structures, and document flows.

S/4HANA Experience:
• Exposure to or hands on experience with:
o S/4HANA ABAP development
o CDS Views
o Code remediation and optimization for S/4 migrations

Delivery & Collaboration:
• Ability to work independently and take end to end ownership of technical deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with functional, integration, and basis teams.
• Strong documentation and governance mindset.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Experience supporting ECC to S/4HANA migration programs.
• Exposure to SAP Clean Core and extensibility strategies.
• SAP ABAP or S/4HANA certifications.
