About the role

BT is going through a transformation journey to move from it’s legacy technology stacks onto new strategic platforms; this is critical to our future success. This role will be critical to the further enablement of that transformation.

In this role, you will lead the design and build of a new AI-based Integration platform bringing together other existing platforms. The aim is to bring unified DevSecOps experience across our core platforms increasing delivery speed, productivity and adoption of APIs and Microservices enabling migration of customers and the closure of legacy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Accountable for leading on the design, build and delivery of a new integration platform for BT.
  • Partners with a range of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, update on progress and achieve benefits.
  • Lead a small team (potential mix of FTE and sub-con) in building the BT integration platforms.
  • Accountable for the quality of design and build and ensuring the secure build of the platform.
  • Overseeing the team's work and ensuring the work is completed to a suitable standard.
  • Supporting the team with both hands-on development and giving guidance and mentoring.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Hands-on development experience (ideally in integration-related technologies)
  • Experience working with API Gateway technologies (Kong or APIGEE preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.).
  • Experience in RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Java, preferably with Spring Boot.
  • Cloud administration skills (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Full-stack development experience (pref. React/Angular).
  • Typescript/Pulumi, Terraform experience.
  • Cloud certifications.
  • Software development experience using LLMs or AI.
