Purpose Of Role:
Service Operations providing (24/7) support to customers on services included within the private line and data product sets. This support includes accepting and progressing faults received directly from end customers and BT interfaces. It also includes proactive network surveillance and progressing faults to resolution with suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot/Diagnose all Level 1/2 issues from the customers and driving satisfactory resolution of the issues.
Troubleshoot Product, Codes and Configuration issues.
Ensure On-Time escalation to L3 and Engineering (R&D) teams. Assist 3rd line teams when required.
Ensure consistent customer satisfaction.
Provide Firewall Security design and engineering support to business projects.
Firewall configuration support.
Proxy Server configuration support.
F5 Security Module configuration support.
Implement policies and rules as required by the access requirements.
Install firmware and patch updates.
Regular auditing of firewall rules to remove hosts that are decommissioned.
Create firewall rules for new requirements.
Adhere to ITIL best practice procedure in relation to all aspects of change and configuration management.
Own problems and escalate to external vendors as required.
Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies.
Co-ordinates maintenance and repair of the Security equipment.
Likely to be working in a 24/7 service centre environment interfacing directly with end customers, various BT distributors and customer service centres.
Responsible for monitoring Security systems performance by identifying customer traffic and customer impacting system problems.
Work with BT partners and end customers to coordinate inter working testing and fault isolation / repair.
Analyse complex equipment problems and provide recommendations and coordination of repairs or replacement of associated faulty equipment.
Manages repairs requiring knowledge of procedures utilised within the international market place. Including recording data of significant complexity.
Analyses data and prepares reports detailing results.
Responsible for driving vendors to repair/replace on reported incidents.

What you’ll be doing

1. Delivers critical customer technical support for network, hardware, and infrastructure development.
2. Executes across technical areas including systems requirements data analysis, engineering, systems design, systems development, computer programming, systems testing and deployment, quality assurance, configuration management, and systems documentation.
3. Analyses user interfaces, maintains network, hardware, and software performance tuning, analyses workload and computer usage, maintains interfaces with outside systems, and analyses proposed system modifications and upgrades.
4. Defines the problem and develops system requirements and specifications.
5. Prepares required documentation including program-level and user-level documentation; enhances existing software systems.
6. Manages work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.
7. Collaborates with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
8. Troubleshoots networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction.
9. Participates in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
10. Delivers support to include project management tasks, meeting facilitation, and ad hoc duties as needed.
11. Executes and delivers within standardised procedures in order to achieve objectives and the vision of the Network Engineering team.
