Job Description

Locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester

Flexible working: BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location 3 days a week.

About the role

We have around 1.2 million customers and serve over half the FTSE 350. Our customers range from big household names, government departments and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and connectivity; networked IT services provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications. We also provide network IT services to corporate and public sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland.

Our Wholesale business helps communications providers (CPs) and other organisations provide fixed or mobile phone services. Our ventures provide mass-market services like directory enquiries and payphones, and enterprise services including Fleet Solutions and BT Redcare. We also offer specialist enterprise services to our Internet of Things customers.

The Wholesale Sales function partners with and delivers capability to our biggest customers (across the UK and beyond), who in turn deliver communication services to their customers. In Wholesale, we leverage BT’s assets, diversity and sales excellence to provide these customers with best in class, innovative technology that empowers their customers’ future.

As a Senior Propositions Manager within our Wholesale business, you will play a pivotal role in helping us become more customer-led, more challenging in our thinking and more ambitious about the future of the market. Operating at the intersection of strategy, product and go-to-market execution, you'll drive growth across our portfolio by translating customer needs, market insight and BT capabilities into differentiated propositions that deliver clear customer and commercial value. You'll set the direction for our propositions roadmap, looking one, two and three years ahead to understand how customer needs, technology and the wider industry are evolving.

This is an opportunity to shape not only what we take to market, but how we think and operate. You'll bring an outside-in perspective, challenge accepted ways of working and influence senior stakeholders across BT Business to ensure our proposition portfolio supports long-term transformation and market growth. Acting as both an external voice for BT Wholesale with customers, partners and the market, and a leading internal voice across the business, you'll help build a more strategic, customer-focused propositions capability. Over time, the existing Propositions Managers are expected to report into this role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Define and own the Wholesale proposition strategy, roadmap and go-to-market approach, shaping the future direction of the portfolio in line with customer needs, market dynamics and BT's long-term transformation agenda.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and partners, acting as the voice of the customer internally and using insight, feedback and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and shape proposition priorities.
  • Develop differentiated value propositions, channel strategies and customer experiences that drive growth, improve partner outcomes and strengthen BT Wholesale's market position.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery of propositions from concept through to launch, working closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Service teams to ensure successful execution and measurable business outcomes.
  • Build robust business cases, support investment and portfolio prioritisation decisions, and own the commercial performance of propositions through clear success metrics and executive reporting.
  • Act as an influential leader within BT and the wider market, communicating a compelling vision and roadmap while mentoring and developing the propositions team.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Strong propositions management experience, with a proven track record of developing and delivering customer-led propositions, strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Strategic and commercially focused, with the ability to translate customer, market and technology insights into proposition roadmaps that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leaders, engaging customers and partners, and building compelling strategic narratives.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience owning proposition performance, business cases and investment decisions, with a good understanding of commercial and financial drivers.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, working across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Service teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Experience in telecommunications, wholesale, technology, managed services, platform, subscription or ecosystem-based businesses.
