Why this job matters

The Work & Reward Services Senior Manager is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end operational delivery of core Reward and People Services across BT Group. The role oversees multiple specialist teams—including Compensation, Benefits, Pensions, Sales Bonus & Commission, Immigration & Global Mobility, TUPE & Organisation Management, and Consultation Support—ensuring high‑quality service delivery, operational excellence, and compliance across all processes.

This position plays a critical leadership role in transforming HR operations, optimising colleague experience, enabling business outcomes, and partnering closely with senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Reward Centres of Expertise, People & Culture Partners, Finance, Legal, and external suppliers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Strategic Leadership & Service Delivery: Lead a 50+ global Work & Reward team (UK/India), setting direction for service excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement, while acting as a senior escalation point for complex matters.
  • Reward & Compensation Operations: Oversee annual pay review and bonus cycles, ensuring accurate delivery, strong governance, and alignment with Reward strategy.
  • Benefits & Pensions Administration: Lead delivery of benefits and pension services, ensuring regulatory compliance, service performance, and effective third-party provider management.
  • Sales Bonus & Commission Management: Oversee delivery of complex sales incentive schemes, ensuring accurate and timely commission and bonus payments.
  • Immigration, Sponsorship & Global Mobility: Provide oversight of visa, right-to-work, and global mobility processes, ensuring Home Office compliance and partnering with Legal/TA on risk-free international hiring.
  • Organisation Management & TUPE: Oversee OM, TUPE, and restructuring activity, ensuring data integrity, legal compliance, and a positive colleague experience.
  • Consultation Support: Provide strategic oversight of consultation services, ensuring high-quality guidance and effective support for managers during organisational change.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Strong leadership experience across HR Operations or Reward services within a large, matrixed organisation (Essential)
  • Proven ability to lead large, multi‑location teams, including offshore or shared‑service delivery (Essential)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels (Essential)

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience leading transformation, process improvement, or digital enablement initiatives.
  • A passion for colleague experience, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Deep knowledge of Reward and HR processes.
