We operate a hybrid model of 3 days in an office and 2 days working from home, please only apply if you are comfortable with this arrangement.

Why this job matters

You’ll play a critical role in delivering BT Business’s largest and most complex Transition & Transformation (T&T) programmes across the UK’s public and private sectors. These programmes are central to customer trust, long‑term growth and significant annual revenue.

As the senior escalation point for C‑suite stakeholders, you’ll provide confidence in BT’s ability to deliver on its contractual commitments, while shaping outstanding end‑to‑end delivery experiences. Your leadership will drive performance against business‑critical KPIs, embed a high‑performance and inclusive culture, and enable sustainable cost and delivery transformation at scale.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning the end‑to‑end delivery quality of large‑scale, complex T&T programmes and major deals across BT Business UK.
• Leading, inspiring and developing senior programme leaders, practice managers and delivery teams to create a high‑performing, inclusive culture.
• Acting as the primary executive‑level escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders throughout programme delivery.
• Driving performance against key KPIs including Keeping Our Promises (KOP), revenue milestones, cost to serve and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
• Ensuring delivery costs, total labour cost (TLC) budgets and timelines are effectively managed without compromising quality or commercial outcomes.
• Shaping and delivering transformation initiatives that improve delivery models, customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Providing delivery assurance and sign‑off for Winning New Business (WNB), supporting bids and major deals as an in‑life delivery SME.
• Building strong relationships with market units, partners and suppliers to enable successful, sustainable delivery outcomes.
• Leading continuous improvement through lessons learned, standardisation and modern ways of working.

What experience you'll need

• Extensive senior programme leadership experience, delivering large, complex and technical programmes in a telecoms, IT or large enterprise environment.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate large, senior teams and create a high‑performance, inclusive culture through coaching and role modelling.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering programmes to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction targets.
• Significant experience engaging with executive‑level stakeholders (internally and with customers), including escalation and negotiation management.
• Deep understanding of end‑to‑end programme delivery disciplines including governance, risk, change, planning, stakeholder and supplier management.
• Experience supporting Winning New Business activity, bids or RFPs from a delivery and operational perspective.
• Strong knowledge of IT and telecoms solutions and implementations (e.g. MPLS, WAN/LAN, voice, network and security technologies).
• Typically 15+ years’ industry experience, including 10+ years in programme or portfolio management roles.
• Prince2 Practitioner or PMP certification (or equivalent).
• Eligibility for UK Government Security Clearance (SC) or NPPV3 (BT will support clearance where required).
