This role sits at the heart of the International People and Transformation agenda, accountable for ensuring colleagues across the organisation including Sales, Service, Product and CTIO functions have the right skills, leadership capability and talent pipelines, in the right place, at the right time. By shaping and delivering integrated International Talent, Leadership, Learning and Skills strategies, the role enables business transformation, strengthens succession, builds future ready capability and supports colleagues across geographies to grow, perform and thrive

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Define and deliver International Talent, Leadership, Learning and Skills strategies, aligned to International business strategy, Medium Term Plan and BT Group principles.
  • Translate International’s operating model, platform ambitions and transformation priorities into future skills, leadership capability and succession plans.
  • Shape and deliver enterprise‑scale approaches to leadership development, skilling, upskilling and career pathways across International Sales, Service, Product and CTIO populations.
  • Partner with International HR Directors, HR Business Partners and senior leaders to identify capability gaps, agree priorities and execute targeted talent, leadership and learning interventions.
  • Build and maintain robust International leadership and talent pipelines, including succession planning for critical and future roles.
  • Define and oversee the learning design and delivery strategy for International, ensuring high‑impact, high‑quality learning solutions across all modalities.
  • Enable delivery of International change agendas, including Sales GTM, Service Transformation, Product evolution and CTIO change, through effective learning, skills and change enablement.
  • Lead and develop International multi‑disciplinary teams across learning, skills, talent, careers and operations, driving strong engagement and performance across geographies.
  • Own International learning and skills governance, PMO, reporting, insight and budget management, including third‑party investment and strategic partners.
  • Define and track International learning, skills and talent KPIs and ROI, using insight to continuously evolve strategy, investment and delivery.
  • Influence BT Group learning services, technologies and policy to ensure International requirements are represented and value is maximised.

Experience you would be expected to have

  • Significant experience leading Learning, Skills, Talent or Leadership functions in complex, international or multi‑geography organisations.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering integrated people and capability strategies aligned to large‑scale business transformation.
  • Experience building skills frameworks, leadership pipelines, succession plans and career pathways across diverse role families.
  • Strong credibility partnering with and influencing senior leaders in International or global environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing large (£m) learning and skills budgets, governance and third‑party partners.
  • Evidence of delivering learning, skills and leadership interventions with clear, measurable business impact and ROI.
  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing, distributed teams
