Why this job matters

The key purpose of this pivotal role is to support BT Security’s portfolio from a commercial modelling and pricing strategy lens. This supports BT Security’s revenue growth ambitions before 2030 and beyond.


You'll be a key enabler to BT Security’s future growth plans. It is critical to help drive standardisation of commercial modelling and tools across portfolio, to manage our cost base and ensure we capitalise on our growth via economies of scale, to define commercial strategies which will enable us to be more margin rich and also drive the increase of more secure solutions vs point products.


The scale and pace of Security's growth ambitions require continued focus on the development of innovative initiatives and processes that push us beyond BAU; and empower us to meet our MTP and go beyond. With Security as a major growth engine of BT Group and a core part of BT’s 2030 ambition, and in this role you'll be front-and-centre to defining and enabling BT Security’s current and future success.

What you’ll be doing

• Execute a range of workstreams in reviewing and delivering pricing activities across the security portfolio growing suite of products and managed services (existing and new portfolio launches).
• Contribute to the security product/service strategy and contribute to innovative pricing solutions in a commoditised marketplace.
• Execute a range of activities for day-to-day competitive pricing functions and activities for developing and presenting complex competitive pricing analysis.


• Collate and assess complex data from a variety of sources to gain insights into pricing strategies and market trends.
• Utilise statistical modelling methods to determine the potential impact of pricing strategies on profitability.
• Contribute to the development of a competitive pricing database, continually adding to the knowledge repository.


• Execute customer research, competitive assessments, and quantitative analyses to build business cases and data driven support for pricing recommendations.
• Support the implementation, measurement, and continuous optimisation of cost, price, and package in the market.
• Competitive landscape tracking with a view to keeping BT security MSS as a leader.
• Identifying and defining value added service opportunities to enhance higher margin opportunities and customer experience.


• Help to drive commercial standardisation across portfolio inc. identifying and building commercial pricing tools.
• Help to manage and consistently apply cost base to product models, particularly for service.
• Support commercial strategies and product processes which promote bundling of multiple security services.

Experience Required

• Experience in product & commercial management including pricing approval, business case approval, budgeting and commercial modelling.
• Understanding of the managed security services market and the typical make-up of a managed security service.
• Using insight and data analytics to help inform competitive pricing for solutions in marketplace.
• Experience defining effective pricing strategies, in line with customer and market.
• Demonstrable knowledge of how differing Business units need to work together to meet commercial objectives.
• Stakeholder management and relationship building cross-functionally, required to achieve commercial outcomes and goals.
