Why this job matters

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the development, testing and delivery of applications that assist our next generation Broadband CPE, including Broadband Smart Hubs, Complete Wi-Fi and Hybrid Connect (4G) modems.

You will need to work effectively as part of UK based agile squads, owns the testing of cutting edge client applications and embedded devices, working alongside highly skilled software and partnering developers and testers, within the Broadband Devices tribe.

What you’ll be doing

Develop automation test scripts for our next generation converged products and services

Deliver resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.

Provide technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through matrix team structure

Working effectively as part of Agile delivery squads

Using scrum/JIRA/Wiki for tracking agile workflow deliveries

Supporting proactive improvement initiatives

The skills you’ll need to succeed

• Extensive knowledge of Robot Framework

• Knowledge of python

• Knowledge of VMs and Containerisation

• Knowledge of Linux and Docker

• Using code revision, issue tracking and continuous integration tools, i.e. git, JIRA, Gitlab

• Good knowledge of Agile delivery methods and tools, e.g. scrum/JIRA/wiki

• Good knowledge of Broadband/Home Gateway standards, e.g. xDSL, FTTP, IPv4/IPv6, PPP, Wi-Fi, UPnP, 4G/5G mobile networks

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical material

• Ability to self-develop in required areas

Experience you’d be expected to have

• At least 4 years of professional software testing experience.

• Strong experience in automated testing, specifically using Robot Framework.

• Experience writing code using Python, Selenium

• Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders from across the business

• Industry leading class hands on skills and knowledge on Mobile app manual and automated testing with recent experience in Perfecto.

• Prior experience of leading a quality assurance team with evidence of introducing automated test suites.
