About the role

Delivery Performance exists to assure the success of the Digital portfolio by strengthening quality and predictability through clear methodology, outcome measurement, and continuous improvement. It builds organisational memory of effective best‑practice standards, improves and simplifies how teams deliver work, and supports programmes with delivery excellence and independent assurance to give transparent oversight of portfolio health and capacity, and address risks before they become issues.

The role – This role is a critical for successful rollout of our new common Delivery Framework and operating model across BT Group, providing corporate memory on what good looks like, and enabling interdependent teams to speak the same language. This role primarily supports the Content Editor Specialist. This role is essential in supporting ambition to create single source for information on BT’s standardised delivery methodology, including overarching and detailed guidance on delivery practices.

Success in landing common delivery practices across thousands of people in different professions requires our tech delivery standards and practices to be accessible, easy to find and clearly and effectively articulated to uplift the predictability, pace and quality of end-to-end tech-enabled change delivery across BT Group.[TG1.1] This role will support the Methodology team by taking a user-centred design approach to produce, maintain and optimise an intuitive, interactive Delivery Methodology interface for colleagues to navigate and find relevant guidance in Wayfinder.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designs and deploys the user journey, visual layout and interactive interface to optimise colleague experience in accessing and understanding the standardised Delivery Methodology detailed in Wayfinder[TG1.1]
  • Supports delivery of digital-first experiences drive up usage, understanding and effectiveness of the published standards to enable improved delivery performance and outcomes across the Digital Portfolio
  • Creates detailed low and high-fidelity designs, prototypes, user flows, interfaces, interactions, and overall experiences via mock-ups and diagrams, in accordance with design best practices and brand guidelines
  • Delivers required supporting documentation such as personas, sitemaps, story boards, user flows, etc. following the BT design best practice approach
  • Supports in brainstorming, conceptualising, and iterating as needed
  • Participates in cross-functional workshops such as co-creation, empathy mapping, and journey mapping exercises
  • Supports in the implementation of ways to improve the technical work within area of responsibility using partner feedback, user testing results, and other research to improve assets, products, and services
  • Supports in the transformation of ideas, business opportunities, research and creative vision into clear, usable, useful, and desirable outcomes for users
  • Gathers user research and analytics insights to ensure user needs are met
  • Supports product design standards alongside an evolving design system and actively contributes to detailing specifications

Essential Skills / Experience

  • UI / UX Design: Designs intuitive, user-centred interfaces and seamless end-to-end experiences that are easy to navigate, visually clear, and grounded in user research
  • Digital first experiences: Designs and delivers content and experiences that are optimised for digital channels, ensuring clarity, usability, and engagement across end-to-end online journeys
  • Visual design: Creates clear, aesthetically cohesive visual layouts that enhance comprehension, usability, and the overall user experience
  • User research: Builds understanding of user behaviours, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies, and translates this into insights
  • Product design: Imagines, creates, and iterates products that solve users' problems and needs
  • Interaction design: Creating engaging and user-centred experiences through the integration of products, services, and user interaction.
  • Prototyping: Creates an early sample, model, or release of a product, built to test a concept or process.
  • Accessibility & inclusive design: Ensure that the design of products, processes and practices takes into account accessibility, inclusion, and diversity.
  • User journey mapping: Uses storytelling and visuals to illustrate the relationship a user has with a product over a period of time.
  • User experience strategy: Creates a long-term plan to align every customer touchpoint with the vision for user experience.
  • Data analysis[TG1.1]: Collects and interprets data in order to uncover patterns and trends

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Previous experience with user-centred visual design, UX/UI and website programming.
  • Previous experience with journey mapping and persona-led user-centred design
