Being involved in any portfolio is special however working on a portfolio delivering within one of the largest Capital Expenditure portfolios in the county has something a little bit extra.

This role will be critical to the success of key Strategic Portfolios by bringing structure to a complex set of work across BT Group. The Networks PMO is a delivery focused PMO that supports projects to achieve the best outcomes for all our customers.

Our number one focus is to deliver value to the business and work with projects to deliver value to customers sooner.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the Portfolio Director in structuring and aligning the portfolio and programmes with strategic objectives, including effective collaboration with Delivery Directors
  • Drive the development and execution of strategic plans to increase portfolio value add and delivery excellence, providing actionable insights and recommendations that enhance decision-making and maximise outcomes
  • Engage proactively with key stakeholders—Portfolio Directors, Programme Managers, Project Management Community, Commercial Team, and the wider PMO Team—providing regular updates and maintaining strong working relationships to ensure effective delivery
  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and issues, developing mitigations and ensuring appropriate reporting
  • Creation, maintenance, and communication of portfolio roadmaps, ensuring clear visibility of delivery timelines and key milestones, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Manage KPI information for the portfolio including working with the commercial team to ensure costs align with expectations
  • Continuously review and adapt support activities, mentoring and sharing best practices to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain project management standards and processes based on BT Group’s unified methodology, leveraging tools such as Jira to ensure compliance and effective governance
