To Support and deliver tooling platforms and services to EMS customers in line with business standards and processes. The role is primarily focused at pro-active and re-active activity to ensure continual service delivery and improvement to our customers.

The role requires a skilled tooling engineer who is an innovative, engaging, driven individual and has a proven record of achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Investigations allocated by Tools Manager.
  • Installation, configuration (including Networking), administration and Troubleshooting, as well as deployment and management of VMs.
  • Attend technical meetings, change advisory boards, service reviews when required
  • Leverage application APIs for tooling integration
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including process procedure and work instructions, following the internal quality framework

Skills required for the job

  • Knowledge and proven skill with at least one major server operating system (UNIX/Linux or Windows Server): good working knowledge of Windows Server and VMware
  • Ability to provide detailed and consumable documentation around best practices for deployment of tooling applications, automation.
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with HTML, Python, Javascript, MySQL, XML, REST, SOAP, Powershell.
  • High levels of understanding of complex services, aligned to ITIL service management certification.
  • SC Clearance

Experience you would be expected to have

  • Experience of network change implementation in support of incident resolution or project work
  • Experience of working collaboratively with suppliers
  • Experienced in operating to ITIL methodologies
  • Experience in the development of operational procedures, processes and scripts
  • Experience of creating recovery, test and implementation plans.
  • Experience of ITSM e.g. ServiceNow
  • VMware vCenter 7 experience
