Why this job matters

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst executes financial analysis to support Group/Business Unit activities, maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of accounting and reporting, in accordance with best practice corporate governance, and ensuring effective risk mitigation, in alignment with Group business objectives.

What you’ll be doing

1. Provides finance analysis and input to support the Group and/or Unit activity
2. Executes a range of financial analysis, preparation of reports and other finance activities to support Business Area/Unit finance priorities, working across the Finance teams as required
3. Delivers forecasts and budgets in line with best practices and the broader business context, using appropriate numerical and statistical techniques
4. Analyses and summarises financial data into concise financial reports to comply with standards and procedures and identifies data issues that are affecting productivity or compliance
5. Supports all financial reporting cycles with relevant and accurate information, specifically the monthly results, statutory reports, short term forecasts/budgets and the strategic plan
6. Supports the identification and management of risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, raising any concerns as appropriate
7. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within area of responsibility and communicate issues and areas for improvement to business unit/area managers such as through supporting resolution of any data issues impacting productivity or compliance
8. Keeps knowledge up to date on emerging trends and changes in financial planning principles and practices, sharing with team members
