In this role I will ensure the best customer experience for our CP’s and their end users through the testing of new networks capability to assist the Openreach NGA, Ethernet and Optical network products. The products underpinned by my network testing will be used to create mass communications networks to enable the connectivity of end users

Role Responsibilities

  • Own & Contribute in all test operations and activities related to Openreach NGA, Ethernet and Optical network products owning and / or managing interfaces to network delivery management, network design
  • Manage demand for test, accept test timescales and manage to completion
  • Analyse Network Model Requirements , accept test/ model support with relevant test teams in timely fashion providing clear communication and feedback on task.
  • Apply my expert knowledge of Access, Ethernet & Optical network solutions to advise systems test teams
  • Ensure timely formulation , review & approval of Test scope, test pack with key stakeholders for all acted test demands
  • Ensure high quality of documentation i.e. STC2, demand scope, test scope, test plan etc
  • Identify and drive through opportunities to continuously improve our ways of working.
  • Report progress, issues and escalations in appropriate timescale and manner.

Experience

  • Networking L2 & L3 Technology
  • Broadband technologies (FTTx, VDSL2, G.FAST, GPON, Radio, PPP)
  • Software testing experience of 3yrs minimum, preferably in telecoms, definitely in complex environment.
  • Expert in developing test strategies, test environment setup, test data setup, test plans and test cases.
  • Applies automation for the test scenarios with languages such as Python, TCL, Selenium.
  • Experience in writing wrappers in Python and porting legacy scripts to python.
  • Well Experienced with any keyword driven framework such as Robot-Framework and version control system such as Git-Lab/Git-hub.
  • Testing experience in web services technology like XML, JSON, YML REST-API, SOAP and POSTMAN.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD to support continuous automation and deployment process.
  • Hands on with traffic generator IXIA internal python APIs is more preferred.
